Do they usually fill up quickly?? Would it still be safe to just get a room the day of the convention without reservations? Just wondering....I got some planning to do and all

To my knowledge... the close hotels that have room rates are now sold out. So, if you want a room rate with a still fairly close hotel I think it'd be best to do it now.. if you don't care about room rates... well.. I have no idea. @@ Never done it.

Otakon lists the hotels they have rates with on their site www.otakon.com

Wouldn't this be better in babble or general?

Yeah, I'd think maybe this would go under the board thingy for Otakon.

The day that the Days Inn was posted on the Otakon site it was filled. A few days (~4 days) later the Holiday Inn was filled but I'm not sure of the status of the other hotels.
Bottom line: yes, they fill up quickly. Call as soon as you can or you'll A: end up in a hotel that's more of a walk to the con center then you wanted or B: a really expensive hotel.

I got two rooms at the radison with no problem. They were only $135 a night; pretty cheap for that area.

What usually happens, from what I see, is that the rooms that are set at the Otakon prices are the ones that get taken. There's usually rooms available at the higher priced hotels, but they're not in the Otakon blocks.

I reserved a hotel room at the Holiday Inn in March (second or third week) and I got a room rate at $160 something. But we had to get a king-sized bed. So, it really depends.

I know for that weekend, the Days Inn and the Sheraton are all full. I think the Hyatt is as well.

Minako, our group's at the Radisson too. Maybe we'll cross paths.

They seem to have vacancies available, best price and best distance available.

I hope all of us cross paths! >^.^<

If you can afford to stay at the Hyatt, you are rich and I want to marry you!

Right on my fellow College mate.

But not everyone drinks booze, so we gotta have other things to do.

All I know is that I'm brining some Rum, and like 10 packs of Schimoff. Any perference as to it's regular or Triple Black.

Ummm, I like ice 101 cause its minty fresh and one bottle lasts you the whole con...shots is fun as long as it tastes good!

Twister is always a fun party game...

I'm thinking we should just all meet, put some cash in, and go to the nearest Liquor store in Baltimore, so that everyone can get what they want.

And twister is always good. ^_^

I also like a nice helping of Truth and Dare if done right.

I got a deal at the Hyatt for like $130 a night but that was through hotwire.com.. only prob is with hotwire is you gotta have to pay upfront and there is no refund. Aaaand.. you don't know what hotel you are getting until you pay for it. Screwy eh?
