I never thought that this series wouldn't darken it way back to television. Let alone have a new version of it. Now next Sunday, it will present itself on Nickelodeon. Some may know what I am talking and others may not. You guys wondering what the heck I am talking about? and what series? *sigh* Well, run for the hill everyone. Speed Racer is coming to television, but not just any Speed Racer. A new version. *screams*

I dislike Speed Racer! It got to be the worst dub I ever let my ears listening to. Some may agree.

ROTFL!!! I have to tell my dad and uncle. I'll have to tape it for them XD. And dubs have grown in quality over the years. . .hopefully this one will be better than the original :P.

Another new series of Speed Racer?
I remember seeing such a version a few years back...is it the same series or are they making a new 2002 series?

I was scared enough of the new He-Man! It's running on Cartoon Network, you can catch the movie tonight @ 7 I think. They upped the animation, but the plot is just the same. Let's sell some toys!

I also heard rumors of a new Strawberry Shortcake cartoon. I guess the American animation companies are out of new ideas.

So THAT'S why I saw He-Man action figures at Target. I have to watch that tonight! I hope I'll see She-Ra, but probably not ;_;.

I'm such an 80's cartoon nerd. My fave is Lady Lovely Locks -- I would love to make her dress ^_^.

Me too. I love those cartoon back in the 80's. It would be cool if Cartoon Network were to do another spin-off like Boomerang showing those old cartoons from the 60's and 70's, but instead showing 80's cartoons. ^__^

Oh god bless you all!! I am a huge 80's fan (given the fact that the 80's were my childhood years!) I collect Care Bears(which are making a toy comeback), Jem(they are working on her comeback now) & Strawberry Shortcake(DIC is doing the animation on it).

As for Rainbow Brite, it's mostly a clothing line, no plans on bringing back the toys. :(

*sniff* I had so many Rainbow Brite toys, but my mom gave them all to a cousin years ago. Jem actually scared me. More accurately, the villains did, lol! I'll watch the new Strawberry Shortcake!

80's cartoons are coming back. Crazy, and fun considering those were the ones I watched. I loved the Care Bears when I was a kid. Cartoon network is also running some of the old Transformers Cartoons. You know what really needs to come back? MASK! That series was cool!

I still have all my old toys . . . (I was a Care Bear for Halloween once. Except, isn't the one with the sun on the stomach a guy?) So I have two Rainbrow Brite toys, still in pretty good condition. And a stuffed Care Bear (the pink one), plus I think I still have the stuffed toys we made from a pattern - it came with the character printed on the fabric, you just sewed it together. My Glo-Worms sit on my dresser, lol. I have one Jem doll, I think . . . I wasn't allowed to watch She-Ra, though I played with my cousin's toys and thought they were uber-cool. She had that . . . Castle of Power or what have you too. Wonder if she still has them?

the 80's cartoons are the best. Cartoons now are like...blah...
there no words to describe them. I always wonder when people look at anime. They say it too violence. When I look at The PowerPuff Girls. No parents (That I haven't from yet) every say that the powerpuff girls are too violence for kids.

Bwahahah! As I started reading this I thought it was going to lead to something horrific like the developlement of an All-Pokemon-All-The-Time channel or something. Speed racer isn't thaaaat bad. You gotta admit, it certainly was one of the most eye catching anime's to cross the pacific. I will concede, however, that the dubbing was less than admirable. When I was little, I didn't know that Speed Racer was made in a different langauge, I just thought the cartoon voices were supposed to be funny.
