So, how did Megacon go for the rest of you? I had a lot of fun, and was able to spend conservatively (which was a must considering the amount of cash I spent on my costume lol).

My Link costume was so popular that I couldn't walk around for very long without getting stopped by somebody wanting to take a picture. This happened even more so when I was in a group with Luigi, Daisy, Mario, and Bomberman cosplayers. We got mobbed like the popperatzzi (however that's spelt) to celebrities.

The only downside was that during the last few hours, my ocarina fell out of my pouch and shattered. Completely destroyed. I'll have to get a replacement.

Anyways, how was it for the rest of you?

you went as link? I saw alot of them at the con I may of seen you in the lobby I remember a mario so more than likely i saw you ^^
okay I had a blast totally tired just got back not to long ago con mode wore me out totally I skipped eating the entire con because I was not paying 8$ for a hamburger so I ate when I left parking was a little insane the line for the cosplay contest was insane overall I had a wonderful time it was a lil more compact this year smaller and a larger crowed, I was hapily the only Movie!edward elric. my fav costume I saw was the leather clad dude jumping everywhere and literally humping almost everyone XD so much fun.
hope to see you all at Jacon in about 75 days if not then heres to next year LOVE!

It was awesome for my friends and I. I saw you at the lobby, exactly when your Ocarina shattered, that sucks. We were wondering what broke and now we know.

And in case you wanted to know, roommate and I went as Jay and Silent Bob.

Hope you can find a replacement for your Ocarina at a nice price.

I got some neat stuff and an AMAZING pic with Duel Jewle, I also faught Gundam box as PockyZilla for the iron cosplay "half-time show". If anyone got pics or a video recording please donot hezzitate to send the link to me XD

I think the rave officially sucked. My freinds and I left early because it was so horrible. It was too hot, people were moshing (I mean who moshes at a rave?), crowd surfers falling on their asses, the transitions sucked, and the music was to slow/fast/off beat.

I got to work for a vendor on row 600. His name was Henry. He was selling the tee shirts....blah blah, anyway I was the person in the suit behind the counter folding shirts and answering questions and holding an ass-load of boxes for a big collector ( for the lucky few who had to wait in line for the man to collect and pay for over 50 pieces of merchandice I apologize).

Anyway it was overall very cool, I got interviewed by Last Wednesday and I bought some awsome stuff. It was a cool con, not the best but really cool.

My friends and I had a blast. We only went Saturday but we came at the very beginning and left sometime after the rave. I do have to agree that the rave was really hot and moshing was odd for a rave. But I'd never been to a rave so I couldn't say much.

For some reason, I didn't buy that much at the Dealer's room. A few things here and there but not that much, the body heat in the room killed it after awhile. We stayed on the 3rd floor playing DS for awhile.

Pictures were a must, my friends had YRP in position [x of course. It was hard leaving because of it ! But after being turned away from the costume contest it was getting tiring. Fifteen people away and it gets full. Lame.

I say it was really fun if only really hot inside, and cold outside. It was hard finding somewhere moderate temperature to really breathe at times.

I definitly had an amazing time.
Sunday rocked! Got 2 pics with Hayato and Val (Deul Jewel).

Like Bane84 and his link cosplay... I was a school girl, and my friend and i (we were twin school girls) couldnt walk very much cause people kept asking for our pics! But we didnt mind :D makes ya feel famous ya know? I love it!

All I have to say now is... I cant wait for AnimeExpo ;]

I had a BLAST!!! I worked for FUNimation for Friday and Sunday, and that was uber cool! Meant I got to hang with my friends a bit before things got too busy. XD Loved the fact that we had RAMEN as a free thing to pass out. It sucked that we had a few problems due to stupid people not sending us the right stuff and the numbers being wrong to call the cable companies. >.< Meant we couldn't pass out all the free t-shirts we wanted to.

On Sat I cosplayed as Kasumi. My sword even passed Weapon's check! I was so happy! LoL. I kind of was disappointed in the fact that I spent so much time WAITING for the costume contest, but meh. I've already decided I'm not going to enter any more for a little while unless I am NOT working. it cut into my dealer room time way too much.

Overall it was great. Kind of had a bad moment when friend forgot to grab my wallscroll that he told me he's hold while I was in contest, but it's all good. They replaced it with another nice one, although I am bound and determined now to find the other one, even if I have to look on ebay. XD

Rave was ok, but the heat and the stupid people got really bad. =/ Especially the smell of Pot that happened later. ((Sorry, not a big fan of that, especially in a crowded area with MINORS!!! It was thoughtless. What you do in your own time is whatever, but you were in a public place. >.<)) Left before it got broken up.

hmm, other then that, had a lot of fun. ^_^ Missed the pictures/autographs by Duel Jewel which was a bummer, but eh, not going to let it ruin my trip. Actually kept within my spending limit!! I was so pleased with myself!

Mega 2007 to me seemed much better than previous years. I was there Friday and Sunday (Had an emergency on Saturday so I had to skip the day) and enjoyed every moment for a change. Spent most of the time either walking around and letting people get photos of me (was dressed as Inuyasha) or in the gaming area. Everyone was really friendly and I loved entertaining everyone I came across.

As for Cyberia, when I decided to stay for it last year, it had to be the most disappointing thing I had seen from Mega. And from the sound from it, it seems to be even more disappointing. Seriously, moshing at a rave... seems like people don't know the meaning of a rave. And per usual, the music was awful and not even that audible. But thankfully I wasn't there as if I even knew that there was a smell of pot or pot smoking going on, I probably would have gone berserk. I don't care what you may decide to do at home, but don't bring it to Mega.

Anyways, I hope everyone had fun and can't wait for next year. I hope for the same setup as this year, because the showroom was absolutely great and allowed for so much to be done ^_^

well this was my first actual con so i thought it was cool...the rave was really hot/humid and stunk of B.O.
it needed ventilation...really bad.
but i still had a lot of fun the whole day.

Megacon 2007 wasn't a bad con, but I really did nothing else but walk around posing and socializing with Final Fantasy cosplayers or any nice people that came up to me or recognized my FFXII Larsa cosplay.

I was sad that Voltaire wasn't able to go to the con. =(

And, I wasn't able to go to the Rave because my friends wanted me to do a Ghost in the Shell and Final Fantasy VII and VIII cosplay photoshoot. I heard it was wall to wall people and it was freaky humid, though.

...And that's the same reason why on Saturday, I walked into the dealer's room, and walked right the back out. XD!

I got down on my knees and screamed "nooooooo!" when I heard that Voltaire had been cancelled. Literally.

Plus, I just found out that R. K. Milholland was there, and I had no idea... :bigcry:

I had fun, though- met some cool people, and lots of people recognized and appreciated my Sirius Black costume. ^_^ I did go on my own, though, which kinda sucked- hopefully some of my friends will be able to go to the next con.

(...oh, plus, my beard came off halfway through the day, and I wasn't able to get it back on... which really sucked. :( I told a few people that I'd just had time to shave since breaking out of Azkaban. :b)

Hmmm...con was pretty good overall. I was Link on Saturday (uh, the short one with the golden blonde wig from Link to the Past), one of many, and also got stopped a lot. I got stopped 20 times just trying to get in line for tickets...X_X I wish I had more time to spend with friends and checking out the dealer's room though. I didn't like the set-up as much this year, it's like they were cutting back on the anime section.

I had a GREAT time at megacon. Everyone was so nice, and there was almost no drama which makes a con even more enjoyable. I got alot of attention in my Roy costume on saturday so that made me feel good, and my good friend Daisy won best of show, so we spent saturday night congratulating her. The rave was a blast, and the DJ had some awesome mixes. The costumes looked overall very good, and I can't wait till next year when we're in the bigger convention center

This was definitely one of the best years I attended. While I didn't do a ton of stuff, I did get the chance to hang out with Kitten ^ and a few other friends, which made me oh so very happy.

Also, this is the first year I went in a costume that was highly recognizable, (femmy Vincent -- if you got any pics, let me know? Please? ^^; )and I have to say that the attention was a nice change from the usual "...uhm, and who are you?"

Additionally, I might be a booth bunny for some up-coming cons for some friends of mine that own a comic company, which was also very awesome news for me.

All in all, the attendees just seemed to be a more lax and friendly crowd than at previous years, another very welcomed change (even if ticket prices do keep creeping up).

This was my first Megacon and it was pretty awesome. XB All considering what I went through before hand. I was a Kazekage Gaara [no gourd, sadly] walking around with a Kyoraku Saturday and Sunday, and he needed a Haori sewn. He gave me like... haha, 8 hours notice before we were planning to leave. >_< Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all Thursday night, so I opted to skip out on Friday, to catch up on sleep buuttt... I couldn't really argue since he paid for everything else for me except for tickets. Gas, hotel, food. It was fun.

Got TOOOONS and TONS of pictures taken. Gaha, there was even two little adorable Sakuras who did a running tackle at me while I was waiting in line on Saturday afternoon. XD I seriously had a deer-in-headlights-moment there. They were cute anyway! :3 [Speaking of which, I overheard from my Kyoraku that there were a small pile of girls on the floor drawing GaaSaku in the dealer's room? And I missed out?! Damn... TT_TT]

I LOOOOVED the two who cosplayed from Phoenix Wright on Sunday, and the Tick. Also loved the little blue Jengo Fett, the wookie and all the other Star Wars costumes held in the Star Wars costume contest Saturday night. Really awesome costumes and in-character.. ness!

That remote controlled R2D2 was pure badassery. n___n

Voltaire cancelling made me want to cry.

And the rave...well. Let's not discuss that thing. The music started out okay, and then just went to hell.

And did I read correctly? It's going to be in the new section next year?

I am so freaking sick now. =D

That always mean the con went well.

I had an amazing time. Unfortunately, I was only there Friday, and it was my first Megacon. I met this wonderfully kind, funny, awesome man named Chris who spent the day from seven that morning to seven that night showing me around and keeping me company. We had a blast, even if most of what we did was wander in circles are the dealer's room. I had fun talking to people and carousing the wares and having a few pictures snapped of me.

I forgot contact solution... again. >< And I have my scleras in for about 14 hours this time. But they were still amazing and scared the hell out of people, even people who had seen them before. XD

I had four random people recognize me, more when the Endless group got there. Can't wait for all those pictures. I had a lot of wonerful comments about how people, even though they had no idea who I was, loved my costume, so I'm very pleased - I've never gotten so much positive feedback on a cosplay before!

Hanging out with the Endless group (with Reno and... a Naruto person (don't kill me, I just... don't know which because I've hardly seen any *hides*) was amazing. The ride to the hotel (*high fives Death, Reno, and Nada*) rocked. I drove at night with scleras in. They all should have been very scared. XD

There's more to ramble about how much fun I had (especially seeing friends - Jason kicked ass in the Barbarian Battles and I was so happy to see him again, Pez was amusing as always, noticing my silver hair first and THEN my contacts, saw my soon-to-be stagehand boss Robert again, Roy finally got a good look at my contacts, and I saw Henry, Luke, Sara, and I'm sure a few others who have now magically slipped my mind DX), but I'm going back to homework that's due in two hours and being sick.

I had a lot of fun.. i was pretty hot on saturday though.
I was one of the NASA Seals walking around from the DAVE School booth.
We got some great pics with some groups and costumes but there spread out over 7 cameras so I'm going to combine them this week when i get all the cameras.

The rave? bleh. No comments.

The obligitory my car hates me on the way to convention story:

Well, the car likes me but the road hated me. On my way there Friday my rear passenger wheel hit something in the road I didn't see, a tiny peice of metal. tink tink pop. Had to put a doughnut on it and drive it back 2 hrs going 45 what took 35 mins to get out there.

Sat got up early to try to find a place that'd take me and found one!!! It's now 12 when the work is done. Finalllllyyy after a 3 hr drive I'm in Orlando with a little bit of con left.

Met some cool artist peoples, talked about comics, and looked at action figures I shouldn't buy. Then went to hang with my old artist buddy Castillo, and finally got ahold of another: Chris Moreno. I havent seen this kid in years! But he got him name in Wizard, so he's been doing well! My art teacher Gary Barker was also there, he is a cool guy to hang with any where.

Sunday: The drivers side door hasn't opened in 2 weeks, the seat belt froze up. So it was a fix or drive unsafe. Took the whole door apart... 8-3pm to fix >,< at 3:30 finally got to the con this time in my blood elf costume I was supposed to wear Sat! Got a few pics! Met a cool Undead rogue cosplayer :D and then helped my buds tear down at the end of the night.

And finally,
fall into bed o_o

Be lucky you can drive yourself XD Atleast you didn't have to ask for a ride, and then the people end up being asses and leaving you at the con, because of the whole "He said she said" crap.

Megacon was a great social con. It was like standing around a giant water cooler, just chatting away with other cosplayers. The atmosphere was great, and everyone was really friendly!

That said, why were all the anime rooms pushed out in the 2nd floor corner? :| This year we got pwned space-wise. I'm sure there are reasons why the card/gamers got the front rooms next to the escalator on the 2nd floor this year, but frak! Since we share the con with other sci-fi peeps, I know space is always an issue, but it feels like the Megacon anime crowd is outgrowing its allotted area.

I'm also surprised the costume contest entries weren't capped. I had friends that weren't pre-judged until well after three, so their ability to peruse the dealer's room and take part in other events was limited. It happens every year, but wow, 130 entries?

:D Karaoke was fun. OA said they might bring it to Jacon, and I hope they do. Those guys who sang to the Spice Girls rocked hardcore.

DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THE DIABEETUS GUY? I died laughing. He was my hero.

Eh, I found the con rather disapointing, though I don't regret going. Plenty of good memories. I met lots of kool people too. Had a great time hanging out with Chibi on Friday, woot! The rave was terrible. It smelled like ass in there. =\...So we went home, went to sleep, next day we had our own mini rave in our bathroom which was so much better. Instead of cage dancers we had bathtub dancers lol.

I'll be putting up a more comprehensive con report on my LJ, but overall this was the best Megacon for me since I started going in 2003.

First, No real 'Drama'!

Next the Nintendo Mini-shoot came off well on Sunday and we had a ball all weekend as I paid homage to the less cosplyed Dr. mario and Fire mario AKA Mario-MC wit all da bling-bling! Thanks to NegativeDreamer for the props and the peepage all weekend! Thanks Bro!

And as I''m an ole fart the rave was no different for me so go figure!

Loved seeing so many more friends and making new ones, and though I didn't plan to be in the cosplay/costume contest I had a ball and request anypne who digitally videoed the skit, send me the link willya!

See ya at Metrocon AND AFO!

Mega was ok this year. It was really packed but me and my boyfriend made it through alright thanks to some nice attendees this year but there was more sci-fi/comics stuff then anime stuff. I was a little dissapointed. I went all three days but saturday was just squirm-through kind of situation. I felt like there was no ventilation in the dealer's room at all. Lucky that outside of that it was a comfortable temperature.

As for cosplaying, I got so mad because at the last minute my Fran costume was Totaled....completely. It was just ruined. So my chances for wearing the costume at all went down to 0% again. But there were some really good costumes out. My personal favorite was the final fantasy crew. Awesome job guys.

The kareoke was just hilarious. The "Spice Boys" rocked.

For the people that participated in the costume contest, everyone was awesomeness. The cosplayers I've noiticed have gotten better and better. Makes me proud to say I'm part of the cosplay community

The rave....well let's just say that as soon as my boyfriend and me walked in we made a 180 and walked right back out. It was just horrible...moshing, smelled like pure pot (not a big fan), and the music sounded like edited static. Sorry but that's how it was for me.

Overall..it was cool. Had lots of fun. What I'm really excited about is Jacon.

Yeah, I'm not hearing anything good about the rave...good thing I left right after the costume contest and pictures from Mab. Which is strange because in the past, I could swear that people really liked the MegaCon raves (is not a raver, therefore not one to go to for opinions on good/bad raves).

This was my first Mega... I had a lot of fun!

It sucked being stuck in the cosplay contest lines (prejudging and competing) but I'm used to it...

I wanted to go to the rave but ended up not going, now I'm glad I didn't...

I think cosplayers, as a group, were better than I've seen at previous southeast cons - the Bar has been Raised!!

I loved that it was more than just anime - the mix of sci-fi, fantasy, anime, comics, and more was great!!!! (I guess since I am into all these)

The atmosphere at this con was the best of the cons I've been to - very friendly and warm, like Foos' water-cooler analogy. Good Analogy!!

I thought the pre-judging for the competition was to sort out people that were to go on, and those that weren't? Maybe I was confused. Anyhoo, I did like the pre-judging idea. It made going on stage so much less terrifying.

I do wish they had put the signings/celebs in the other (unused!) exhibition hall. It would have made the dealers' room much more aromatic, ventilated, and user-friendly. There was a lot of wasted space with the signing areas.

A random thought has found it's way to me -

Did the OMG DeathxDream/NadaxDaniel thing ever find it's way online? =D
