mabey a silky fabric? to make the collar stand up you could make the collar two layers and put interfacing in between, theirs iron on interfacing and the kind you just sew on.

you could try wonderflex for the mask, there's a wonderflex thread in the props section for more information.

good luck:)

I have a friend who is completly obssessed with this show. She's a mecha fan and she forced me to watch the first couple episodes.
The mask I think you could use a mask that you an buy from a store and use it as a base and then add the details of Zero's mask on top of that mask. Not sure if it'll work...but it's an idea right? ^^

If you try interfacing, use the really heavy type that is a few millimeters thick. Otherwise, maybe put wire the points on the collar....whatever you use on the mask face needs to be somewhat translucent. you'll prolly have trouble finding it (even I don't know for sure). you might try actual motorcycle helmets, some bowls in the kitchen and decorating sections are made of translucent plastic...you could get someone to cast it in clear epoxy (or do it yourself). Heck, check the easter section--the bottom part of a large egg gift-basket thingy might work, who knows.

Anyways, once you do that, try to find a custom car window tinter and see if you can get any of their scraps--put it on the translucent part and hopefully you'll still be able to see through it without anyone seeing your face.

Don't worry, you're not the only people to see it--3 of my friends are also cosplaying it later this year....all i could think of doing was C.C., but I can't get over the fact her hair looks like glow-in-the-dark snot....that and he costume is pretty much a futuristic straight jacket...No one ever comments on that...Neways, good luck!
