Any suggestions on fabric choice for Alucard's coat. I dont want to use anything too thin so that it doesnt have the right shape I also dont want to use something like Duck Cloth that would damage my 30 something year old sewing machine.
Any help would be appreciated. I am making this coat for my Husband and he's very pick about accuracy.

I think a nice suiting would be great. It's rather expensive though and requires pressing before every wear for the right look.

My boyfriend suggested a red leather in planning his Alucard, but he's not entirely sure yet. It would cost a TON and be a hassle to sew.

Suiting sounds good, a bit on the high-maintenance side but since he's only doing one costume this year (as opposed to my three a year) It should work. Thank you!
