View Full Version : My Goal To get to NDK
06-19-2007, 07:51 AM
I am from Ontario and I'm trying my best to plan on coming this year.
Why NDK you ask? Because, I wanna meet some cool people I've talked to here XD!! :bigtu: My dad has given my other 2 sisters a major trip for graduating, so now it's my turn.
Now, I've never actually planned a trip before and my dad will help me a little since he's the one paying and stuff. I need to find out the best costs for Hotels. I've looked into NDK's hotel, and it's a possibility :]
then there's plane tickets >.< the expensive part XD
It'll end up costing my dad quite a bit XD and if I can get the cheapest prices for him, it'd be a good help, cuz if it's too expensive for him, then I can't go.
My sister's trips were pretty cheap for him because where they went, they had relatives. I don't think I have any relatives in Colorado XD!!
Plus, what's NDK like? I looked through the website, but I didn't see much listed, probably because it's not for a while. But how about last year, what kind of stuff did they have??

Definately stay in the con hotel. It's much more fun that way ^_^
As opposed to larger cons that I've been to, this one was a lot more personal I suppose :3
I about died of laughter watching Battle Karaoke, I met some cool folks at the JRock meetup, met some of my now best friends in CO at a "how to make a cosplay skit" panel (which was also hilarious), got owned by a black mage in Battle cosplay, fangirled over Piano Squall practicing in the open area, got proposed to three times O_o, and...
Anywho XD I was especially impressed by the dealer's room. It's about a fifth the size of AWA's, but it wasn't too crowded, there was a good selection since the dealers that were there tended to have varying stock, there was a lot of completely unique sellers (those boots were pretty X3), and prices were generally good ^_^

I agree with Ari-Chan, try to stay in the con hotel, lots of fun things happen at night XD The people at NDK are also super nice and very supportive of their fellow cosplayers ^-^

awesomness, I keep that in mind :]

You'll love NDK, the community here in Colorado is amazing (especially the cosplay community, there are so many nice/well-known/talented folks here who are very outgoing and friendly). NDK is rapidly growing as a con, so I think anybody who can make it here for it will really enjoy it :3

Sweet, so far I've been to 3 cons. Pretty much all I like to do is hangout, the panels don't seem interesting enough for me XD except there was one at AN that I couldn't go to because I had to leave, all on Gackt. The Gackt Panel. Wish I could've gone XD
06-22-2007, 10:06 PM
Oh dear Lord XD an all Gackt panel?
I know some people who'd die for that... *stares at Reozu*
I swear they're the high priests of the cult of Gackt >.>;;;
We've got lots of quirky people X3

I'm not quite high priest, but i am a priest to the Religion of Gackt lol

lmao, ya Gackt is God
well along with: Diru, gazette, Girugamesh, Phantasmagoria and so on and so on XD lol
I love Hyde

For those who care, Gackt's birthday is July 4th, so make sure to celebrate it!!!

I didn't think there was a cult... O_O'
I'm quite content calling myself a Dear.
I hate to sound a bit snappy, but let's not get too terribly off topic here.
As much as I love Gackt...as much as we all love Gackt...his birthday holds little relevance on getting 'the Canadian' to CO, haha.
That's right....I just called you the Canadian. Looks like things have pretty much handed to you. With what else might we help?

Just passing through since someone mentioned that apparently that our convention isn't on the calendar (I am the webmaster for NDK), but I actually have some input on this topic.
Definitely stay at the Marriott if you can, not only for the fun that it is, but because it is a kickin' deal if you use the code on this page (http://www.ndkdenver.org/2007/venue-info). It will definitely save your dad some money. Hurry though since they are close to selling out and the other hotels in the neighborhood, although fairly close, will cost quite a bit more. And I know it pretty much says this on the page, but if they still have rooms available, the discount is still available.
Look forward to having some Ontario folk at the convention!

Oh if I remember right, if you can book your tickets early! Because /sometimes/ the ealier you do it, the cheaper you can get your tickets for.
Or, since there is a large ammount of time from now till then, look for tickets as there are sales going on.
And don't forget to add in the con fee to your list of prices! x-x Which also is cheaper the sooner you get it. -nodnod- Which...I need to do. >.>;

Definitely book in advance. Southwest goes up there, and they have really cheap tickets (looks like if you book now, it will be around $300). Just remember to check in online 24 hours before your flight if you do that so you don't have to go through the cattle call.

yar, I gotta get my dad to look into it asap XD he said not til the end of July, but I did have a feeling that the hotel would soon be booked. So maybe I can try and convince him to do it like, now.
@ Pink Spider: Ya, the Canadian who's gonna bring Poutine!
Umm hmm, what else would I need to know about the con??
