Greetings, Cosplayers!

A group of friend and I are trying to put together a Spiderman Symbiote Cosplay group for Screamfest 2007 - a horror-con that takes place at the Wyndham Resort in Orlando, Florida from October 19th to the 21st. I'm still relatively new to the cosplay scene and have only worked with simple patterns and fabric thus far. However, this time I will be going as Toxin (http://www.answers.com/topic/toxin-comics) from the Spiderman series of comic books. Not only do I get to wear a skin-tight spandex body suit, but I am having the hardest time figuring out what to do for this guy's torso. I had planned to wear a dark blue spandex body suit as is, then finding or making some sort of red muscle suit to cover my torso, forearms, and up. All of the muscle suits I have seen online thus far are either terrible quality, too expensive, or not what I'm looking for. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. =)

Although I'm not entirely opposed to the idea, I do need a back-up plan just in case that doesn't work out for me. =P

Hrmm...here are my thoughts: You could get a leotard/hood in red and cut it up/make it more muscled with some interfaced parts or craft foam. As for the tendrils...perhaps some liquid latex would work? Hope this helps a smidge.

Thanks for the link, GabrielDarkhawk. Haven't ever tried my hand at armor-making, but I could definitely make this work. =)
