View Full Version : Erika Sakurazawa: Between the Sheets

I won't go ranting just yet until someone asks or rants for me, but has anyone read this yet? It's bizarre and I thought I absolutely wasted my money. The chic cover art threw me off totally....and like, I don't even want to bother checking out the other Erika Sakurazawa books that are coming out...

i actually thought it was pretty good. I mean the art is skethy, sure, but its kinda refreshing and th e story is kinda twisted and I think it was really prety good. Ive definitly read much worse manga.

very original and rather intresting manga, think i'll steer away from that one.

Really? I'm sure it could have been a much mroe interesting story but like...it just seemed lacking in character development. I mean we knew Saki was "wild and carefree" and her friend was just like...not as outgoing or some crap. But what else did they do? I found it really lacking...

but I'm a nitpicker

I don't know why I don't listen to advice. -_-;

I just finished reading it. Dissapointing manga. The realism was good, the plot was pointless, but the last couple of pages blew it all. *sigh* I need to take advice when it's given to me.

lol, Velvy...

to me, it's just this bizarre, psycho story with no resolution. The chick is STILL crazy and "in love" with her friend and her friend is STILL not loving her back. =pukes=

I'm gonna try and sell my copy on Amazon... :/

eep! I just got it but haven't read it yet. I thought that maybe it would be like INVU (which I love) stylewise. I'll read it tonight and let you know what I thought.

lol, I actually can't wait to hear what you think of it. Please compare it to INVU, cause I was always semi-interested in that but ended up getting the Erika book and was so totally put off by it that I didn't want to bother possibly wasting my money on INVU or Happy Mania...

06-19-2003, 12:39 PM
now Happy mania... i didnt really like that.. It was kinda random and boring ::shrugs:: INVU i smuch cuter then Happy Mania and Between the Sheets

I.N.V.U. is really interesting. Really good artwork. And the storyline is unlike most that I've seen since it revolves around 4 girls really, and all separate stories for each of them, but all interwined somehow. I especially liked the cosplay references, and of course--the crossdressing! ^_^

Happy Mania...oy. Even worse than Between The Sheets IMO.

I.N.V.U is sooo much better than Between the Sheets. Between the sheets was super bad. I probably won't read her other stuff either. It was just stalkerish and never really developed as a story. bleh too bad. I love reading new artists but this one is definitely a pass.

Well, I guess that proves it...

why did Tokyopop publish Between the Sheets??1?@?!

06-20-2003, 12:58 PM
Maybe they just wanted to add to their "Mature" line?

06-20-2003, 02:17 PM
lol i think they should publish more hentai esque things fo rtheir mature line like Hen:strange Love... oo I love that manga its so cute!!

06-21-2003, 10:50 PM
i loved this book... i couldnt put it down... it reminds me of my and my friend chiristin relations ship ^.^ i would be minna

06-22-2003, 05:39 PM
Still...didn't you think the ending was lacking? Ahhh who knows.

I paged through it again last night, just to see if there was anything I could possibly find redeeming about it...and I couldn't.

Maybe i somewhat enjoyed because it was just a more adult kind of story... i dunno... and maybe also for alck of good shoujo ai out now. lol Though it wasnt good i think i just wanted it to end with them getting together hahaha. I wish Tokyo pop would publish Hen:strange Love manga ::harumph::

06-24-2003, 11:35 AM
hehe yeah. I picked it up cause it was shoujo ai, I guess. I dunno...I'm sure they could find better. I am really curious of Sakurazawa's other works now...I won't dare buy them tho...just read thru em at the store. lol
