Alright, now if anyone has played this game they know there is a certain character class known as Mutant. They get random abilities which usually rock the house but there is one in question. The ability is call 'ESP'. Now since this game came out in 1991 I have YET to figure out what that ability does! I have cruised the interwebs and looked at other forums for the answer to no avail. I have my ideas of what it may do but still no answers. So if there is any old school gamers out there that can enlighten me I would be honored. :toothy:

I'm not sure you are talking about the right game. Final Fantasy Adventure (part of the Seiken Densetsu series, remade as Sword of Mana for GBA) was a Zelda-like game with 3/4 overhead view and gameplay was based on obtaining weapons and spells to help solve puzzles and progress through the game. The only transformation the hero does is when he turns into a moogle by the Weepy Eye monsters where the hero has 0 defense and can die in 1-2 hits.

My only guess is you are talking about either Mother 2 (aka Earthbound), A pokemon game, or at best relation, one of the Final Fantasy Legend games for Gameboy (none of which I played for very long). What other aspects of the game do you remember? The more info I get, the better I can try to help you.

You are looking to buy/play said game due to nostalgia or you just testing the nerdiness of the thread posters here?

I think darkdjinn is right. I'm pretty sure you mean Final Fantasy LEGEND (which was actually the first SaGa game). I think I happen to remember their being a Mutant class for that game. Never actually PLAYED it, though. I should get around to that.

Confirmed. Final Fantasy Legend (1) had a mutant class in the game that had stats that would not increase by level or gaining exp. points, but by fighting in battles (ala FF2 for NES). Mutants could learn up to 4 abilities (but due to the randomness of the class, they would risk losing the ability during battle as the abilities had limited number of effective uses before the mutant "forgets" the ability). The one mentioned by Zonemagorgo, ESP, was simply a way to help increase the chance/rate of gaining Mana attribute points at the end of a battle.

Sheesh, why aren't there more threads where sparatic trivia is posted?

I hear ya on the difficulty, one of my favorite levels is the one with the speeder bikes and the giant mosquito, where the land is desolate and the only survivors live inside villiages surrounded by force feilds! Seeing a NPC sacrifice himself!!! lol. *calms down*
