I'm *sure* this has been asked before, but I don't see the thread. Anyhow, I'm doing the announcer girl (oneesan) from Battle Royale. I realize that during her brief appearance, she only wears the collar part of the time and that I wouldn't necessarily *need* to have the collar to complete the costume... but if anyone could give me a hint on how to make one cheaply and simply (heck, it doesn't even have to light up) I would be most grateful. Arigatou!

Basically you'll need: sheet metal, foam, tubing, and glue.

That's how I made mine anyway. Click the link for a pic:

enishi- where do you buy your sheet metal?

Go to a store that specializes in sheet metal. They should have some listed in your phone book.

Basically the sheet metal that you're looking for is 28 gauge with #8 mirror finish. The gauge is the thickness and the number is the sheen.

Wow, enishi. Those collars look *great*. I what, do you think, is the approximate price of metal for one collar... assuming they'd sell me so little. And yet, I feel I should buy enough for three... I'm sure i'll mess up! Thanks so much!

Thanks for the compliment. :) The pricing really depends on where you buy it and the quality of the metal. I don't think they'll sell you one strip like that though. I bought one 6 inch x 2 foot sheet for about $5.
