Okay.I searched for a thread to this game, but came up fruitless,so here it is.You already know some aspects of it,but here are some new tidbits I found after the thread vanished:

Sophitia and 2 new characters have been confirmed to join the game. However, here's an interesting twist.A guest character has been confirmed. His name?Lloyd Irving. You may recognize him from "Tales of Symphonia",another Namco production.

The first of the 2 new characters is Geki, possibly one of the bosses you will face in the game.Secondly,a new girl named Maki. She appears to be wielding the Ling-Sheng Su Bo,the persona of Tira, yet having some sorta Fu-Ma Ninja garb.Could be your new ally or a possible enemy.

As for Lloyd,he's an ally,so go fandom-ic here.XD

That's all I got for now.

I really, really, really, don't want this game to suck, given the source material. But with every new screenshot and article, this seems to more and more like "Death By Degrees".

Llyod and SC? I would have never seen that coming really...I'll prolly take my chances with the game simply because of the new view on the game. But I cou8ld think of several reasons why the game would be wierd...namely for the wiimote...Ive tried playing GGXX AC with the thing and its relativly hard...probably going to have to use a gamecube controller for this one too...

This game just keeps getting worse and worse...

Firstly, having a "guest character" when the not all of the REAL cast is playable is just stupid. What business does Lloyd have jumping series?

Secondly, they just keep killing the ORIGINAL story with each update. The TGS trailer had Seigfried talking with the Soul Edge in some basement / cave / underground whatever. According to canon, he took the sword as it was left on the pier after the battle with SoulEdge AKA Inferno, itself. If anything there should be Cervante's ship in the background and a dead Cervantes there on the pier (Taki had him sliced in two after their battle).

Now we have the introduction of Geki and Maki. Both members of Taki's Fu Ma clan. Geki is a highly ranked ninja in the clan, and well Maki, she didn't really do much in the official story. Geki was in charge of hunting Taki down at the end of Soul Edge. So this sorta makes sense. The story reads that in the encounter, Geki loses an arm, so lets see how that pans out. However what it totally neglects from the original story is that nowhere does it say these two were some sort of Soul Edge half breed monsters, AND we know Taki forges her own armor. Yet these two goofs manage to have replicas of parts of her SCIII armor?! Armor that hasn't even been forged yet in the time this game takes place!! This is such a load of horse&*$#. I don't know if its just lazy development, or they just dont pay attention to the original material. Geezus, I gotta stop now for all thats left is a lot of cussing.

Okay.I was at the mall today and I picked up a gaming magazine to read.Lo and behold, there was an interview about SC:L,so I read it.XP

The magazine interviewer asked who else would be coming in for the game and they said characters from both Soul Blade and SCI(SC for the Dreamcast) would be coming in,along with people from their storylines to round the cast out. So,that means we'll have the following in the game, fighters respectively first,as I have no idea about the storyline people much:

Edgemaster
Li Long
Hwang
Rock
Yoshimitsu
The KMX trio(It's like Yu-Ri-Pa all over again!Except we got Ki-Xi-Ma!*gets shot*)

Uhhh...that's all I got for now...*whacks head against wall*

Well, the game has been out for almost a week now. Who else has played it?

Being a die hard Soul fan I had to play this game. At least I can take back one thing, the part I said above about how Seigfried finds Soul Edge, that cave like place was Cervantes's ship. But that doesnt help much because through the course of this game's story there is so much BS it really doesn't even matter. This game can not be accepted as new canon for the series.

Anyway, I cant really say Im disappointed in the game itself. I expected total crap with inaccurate, even frustrating, controls. But what I am disappointed in is how they handled the original Japanese voices. Firstly, the voices of Ivy, Sophitia, and most importantly, Taki have been changed. I don't have any confirmed reason for this, but Taki may be able to be explained. Her voice actress apparently had a long run of bronchitis during the time the recordings for the game would have been made. But it could also be that due to this being the first Soul game under the Namco Bandai banner, its possible that Bandai doesn't get along with certain agencies that Namco got talent from. Who knows, but this I didn't expect this and it sucks. It also doesn't look good for Soul Calibur IV on this front.

Anyway, did anyone like this game? Aside from briefly getting to use your favorite Soul characters outside of a one on one environment (which doesn't apply if you happen to be a Voldo fan for example), this game has no redeeming qualities and would even be bad if it were an unlockable 'mini game' in Soul Calibur IV. (however, at least its better than chronicles in SCIII... )

i havent put my official review in for this game yet, but holy hell, this game SUCKS. im a big soul calibur player, though im nowhere near the obsessive near religious fandom of taki deathcom is. the controls are fine i feel, and the music is good, its just everything else in the game is total ass.

LOL, yeah cant deny that there.

But the controls not being bad? Maybe I got my sensor bar jacked up or something. But I found it to be a complete hell to get a simple horizontal or a vertical EVERY time without fail. I found no method to do it accurately other than holding your arm out dead center with the screen, and I mean dead center. And moving at nearly exactly 90 degrees left to right or up and down. Any margin of error would result in random response. I found myself for boss fights setting the sensitivity to favor horizontals or verticals depending on the situation.

I wouldn't hold this against the game too badly because the auto tracking makes sure just about everything hits no matter what. But the last boss fight. Without giving anything away story wise, it requires you to attack vertically or horizontally to respond to its attacks. This is where the control got to be a little frustrating IMO.

Anyway, I got the bar below the TV, and was positioned center, about six feet away. It was the "sweet spot" for control. Being the first Wii game I really played might have had something to do with it too, but Nintendo was all about how easy and responsive it is. I just found both to be untrue.
