I'm currently working on a Two-Face costume, mainly for Halloween(but I am looking forward to showing it off at a few cons, aswell). I'm making the entire suit from scratch. I have everything pretty much done, and I only lack finishing up the slacks and jacket. I've also got a pretty nice makeup in the works aswell. I'll put up pictures asap when its done. Should be next week sometime.

I was wondering if anyone has any note-worthy Batman-related costumes that they'd be willing to discuss and/or show off. I'd love to see what everyone's been able to produce!

Wow, Satine, awesome work on the Catwoman costume. It looks fantastic. Same to you, callmemilo, on the Batman outfits. I can't wait to see that Joker either, Mattman.

Thats for the goodluck wishes on Two-Face. Its coming along great! I'm kind of using an original design. I wanted something traditional, but not too boring. So I kind of combined the original comic design(black/white) with the design Rick Baker did for Batman Forever. I loved how one side looked completely flamboyant and rebellious, while the other was "Average Joe"-ish. So I kind of captured that, without it being as loud and crazy as it was in the movie. However, my suit is still "half black, half white". I dunno, haha, its hard to explain. I just finished up the jacket last night and am putting the final touches on the pants right now. I'll have pictures up soon.

I just decided to make a poison ivy for this upcoming comic con, but I have a question-hopefully I'm posting in the right thread for this! ^^

I used to watch the batman-superman adventures every day after school (so sad they're not on anymore!) and I loooove batman beyond, haha! (although that's mostly all new villains...) but I want to make a poison ivy costume that's not her leotard, but more of a clingy floorlength gown. I haven't seen batman in years-I need to buy it!!! and I feel like I've seen ivy in a gown like that-that's always how I think of her for some reason...it might have been when she was her other persona, pamela isley. so, i thought i would just make the dress (green, of course) with a high slit in front so you can see some leg and boots, and make the top as similar to her leotard as possible. I thought I could wear her gloves and boots, light green tights, and maybe add leaves and vines maybe to one of my legs and arms or something, to really get the point across that i'm her. I wanted to curl my hair in a 40's wave-that's what her hair looks like to me (i already have flaming red hair)....any thoughts? should i paint my skin light green? i'm naturally pretty pale...

Ha, that's great! I love funny gun props. :D

I always liked the art direction from TAS (before the redesign). I could probably closet-play the Clock King, if I could just find my derby hat. Though one of these days, I'll probably do the Riddler (the derby, suit and tie design, not the jumpsuit {twitches}).

Im was so amazed with the new image of The Joker in Dark Knight, Love his grungy edgy and completey mad look.

So im definitely making his costume. Also Im going to debut it at London Film and Comic convention which is 2 days before the movie comes out in the UK.

Should be great fun to make and wear XD

May also make a fan video... funtimes :P

I did old school Poison Ivy for Halloween (and will be reprising it for Dragoncon), and I'm planning a Steampunk-style Poison Ivy (a la Gaslight Gotham), too.

I'd love to do Harley and Catwoman, but having the red hair and lots of green makes for a good Ivy, heh. I've even thought of doing a female Joker as well.

I'm working on a Batgirl costume (Cassandra version) but I haven't had much time to work on it. So far I have the cloak sewn (out of a black pleather material) and the black spandex bodysuit cut out but not sewn.

I plan to go to an army surplus store for the belt, the boots will be made from a pair of shoes (or real black boots if I find a pair awesome enough for everyday wear), and the gloves will be modified motorcycle gloves.

I found that if you use a small checked blue shirt and filled in the pattern, it would work.

Yep I had a go at Poison Ivy for my sisters masquerade party. I ran out of time so it didn't get finished like I wanted. Was based on the Uma Thurman version. I didn't get to sew all the leaves on and had to settle for the plain green body. Ah well, I might work on this some more and someday and make it good.

But before that I am going to finish my Pfeiffer Catwoman costume.. hopefully that will be ready to debut at the Memorabillia show coming up in November.

Pics of Ivy are in my gallery.

Funny thing happened, ..the day after the party I was VERY ill, almost like I was poisoned or something. Doesn't that sound weird!

I've got a comic Batman suit up in my profile I've worn to one convention. It was a rushed attempt and I'm working on revising it right now, along with a generic armored version somewhat inspired by the TDK verison.

I have a kick ass Joker costume planned for AnimeNext this coming week. I have gone all out, and am trying to make it as close to the Heath Ledger version as I can. I consider it a sort of tribute to the man himself, and since the movie is debuting in a few weeks, the timing is right.
The funny part is that I purchased most of the materials for it ready made from the Salvation Army. Most of it is women's clothes-kind of hard to find purple pants and a coat in men's. I also purchased some silicone prosthetic paste to get that slashed on smile effect. I am stringing a bunch of fake knives to the inside of the coat so if someone asks for a picture, I can open it up like I'm saying "hey kid, you wanna buy a watch?" And best of all, I've mastered the laugh heehaahaHAHAHA

Drackt
06-12-2008, 10:07 AM
Hmm, I don't think I'm going that far with the knives...but for mine (Which I'm wearing at Wizard World Chicago) I have a monkey in a Batman outfit with a noose around its neck. I didn't have the heart to tell the Build-a-Bear lady that I was going to do that.

Anyone know where a quality pair of dress pants for Joker's pants can be had? Anyone interested in creating a pair for me size 40/30/Large (I know my outseam is 42 inches)? Here's the reference showcasing the exact pants right down to the pinstripe pattern and color. I'd prefer stitched into the fabric pinstripes, and I don't care if it's a dye job as long as the color is accurate and the pinstripes are white. If you can find the color and pinstripe it with a sewing machine that would be preferable, but I'll settle for an accurate dye job, too.

Nice. Here's a photo of some ladies from Wizard World, and even two little girls as Poison Ivy.

Soooooo anyone else planning to do nurse!Joker for Halloween? :D I've got a list of places to gather everything (going pre-fab on the dress because I'm just not up to par with sewing something like that yet, though hemming it up right'll be a breeze) and I'm probably going to add onto it each pay day. x3

Couplea questions though- how d'you think I can go about making the Dent sticker and N!J's namebadge? I'm also a little stuck on his belt and just what color socks he's got. I know he's wearing nurses' clogs, but aside from that I'm lost. Seeing the film again sometime next week so that'll help. x3

-Black socks
-Make the sticker design in photoshop and print it on sticker paper
-Name badge can be made of craft foam, aluminum foil, and sticker letters (be sure to have the correct name on the badge)

Saw the film 3 times to learn most of this, as well as making the costume for my boyfriend.

Can't recall how long his socks are, but IMDB says that the name on his badge is Matilda, after Heath's daughter. ;___;

Still needs some work, but I like to think I'm on the right track. Needs more open wounds, I think (since I'm going to steer away from the Batman Forever induced BRIGHT PURPLE Two-Face, but there's aspects of TDK that I can't exactly do to my face. So I'm kind of making a middle ground between, like, TDK and Dark Victory - I'm kind of designing this as I go ><). I dunno, though I'd share!

I would say no only because faux leather doesn't stetch, and if you're going to make a batsuit that's so tight, you'd want some give.

Out of curiousity, does anyone cosplay the not-as-popular charcters from Batman?

Is faux leather a decent material to use for a batsuit?

It would be, I guess it depends on what Batsuit you're making. If you're making the oldschool grey with the black underpants one, it probably wouldn't be a good idea. The major problem is with the movie batsuits, they're all based on a hard suit, similar to like, football gear, so you could use faux leather, but you're not going to get the definition that you need for the batsuit (unless you're totally ripped) - assuming that you're just planning on making a body suit out of the leather. If this is the case, unless you can make said bodysuit skin tight (which is easier said than done), you're only going to end up with a wrinkly batsuit.

tl;dr - it depends on what your game plan is for constructing the batsuit.

eBay Sniper
08-06-2008, 12:17 PM
well, i not exactly sure of it myself. my faux lether stretches so i was thinking of having the faux leather layer be on top. while the layer closest to the body is padding to make the muscle/whatever other designs he has.

oh yeah, im doing a movie Batman, not sure which movie yet, so all black.

i was just mianly wondering if it would be a subsitute for neoprene or rubber, i already have a cosplay with a neoprene wetsuit (MGS2 Raiden) and i dont really want to have to go through that again.

So, returning from Otakon, I was incredibly surprised at the amount of Batman cosplayers.

(Yes, I'm guessing the part with the jacket isn't really new to some of you...)

I'd seen that previously, it was generally pretty helpful, I like the solution to the mouth problem. However I'm a bit confused as to why he chose to use that much scar wax. Maybe I just use scar wax wrong or something, but that stuff is heavy, hard to attatch to your face and when you get hot (as you always do in costume) it'll start to melt. Maybe it's me being a makeup snob, but that seemed kind of like a bad gameplan.

Well anyway, I've worked more on Two-Face, I don't have any progress pictures since I'm feeling kind of lazy about it, but I managed to burn myself melting fabric for the suit, which I think is a fantastic display of irony. But its looking good so far, I just need to add some more char and face-meltings and I think I'll be all set. I'm also going to attempt to cast a prosthetic, which is a new project for me so hopefully it won't turn out horribly.

But in other news, my friends and I, inspired by the 40's Batman Villian's group, decided to go a more Moulin Rouge take on the female Batman villians. So I'm excited about that, I've got all my supplies for Ivy (except for corset boning, stockings and shoes) and will probably start on it tomorrow, since I'd like to get it done before halloween so I can wear it to work (I'm not actually planning on wearing it at a convention until Chicago ComicCon - but I like to be prepared).

Ooh, the perfect place to show off my Red Son Batman that I made for Comicon this year! I was surprised at how many people actually got it, and of course the people that didn't still kind of knew I was Batman, lol. As for the cape, I wanted to make it out of leather, and I really think if you found a soft enough leather, it would work, but it WOULD be heavy. I ended up going with a soft velvet like material from a drape shop. Kind of like the material theatre curtains are made from. It hangs really well, and it flows good. Something I had read about the newer movies was that they used parachute material for the cape. I thought that was a great idea for more modern Batman, because honestly what better material could there be? It flows well, it looks nice, and in a pinch it just might actually save your life jumping off a building lol.

I have always really wanted to do a Joker, but now it looks like I am going to have to wait a few years. I just don't like the idea of doing something that a dozen other people will be doing as well. I want to be able to say,"Ya, I was the guy dressed as ....", and have people go "Oh ya, that was cool, very original idea". and it kind of sucks too, cause apparently my TDK Joker impression is a lot better than I thought, cause I was creeping the hell out of these 2 girls trying it at our last picnic. Of course the fact that I was dressed as Mario might have had something to do with it, lol.

I do still have one idea for TDK Joker (DON'T STEAL IT!). How many people do you think would ever do the Joker in the police uniform with no face makeup and just scars, from the Mayor assassination scene ;P

What other unknown Batman villains are there? Guess it's time to whip out the ole' "Arkham Asylum" mini series.

well all depends on what style your going for

pleather is good for animated series

satin is for the old 66 batman

latex/ vynil good for the movies prior begins

begins uses a flocked velour (heavy velour)

wool is good for the red son batman

but keep in mind batman capes are best using a heavy material
to drape and not to flop

I don't think he really meant it as a "pay attention to meeee" kind of thing. I took it more as regardless of the Joker's popularity because of TDK, the more classic versions of the character still get love.

Also, I don't know if I posted about this already, but I need a halloween costume for work, and I really don't have any cosplay costumes that would really be work friendly, so I decided to make an original design of Poision Ivy (this is partially because her actual outfit wouldn't fly at work, and bathing suit covered in leaves looks good on very few people - and I am not one of those people), so after talking with some friends about what we'd like to do for the next ComicCon, we ended up coming to the conclusion (after being inspired by the 40's version of the female batman villains) that we wanted to take a crack at almost Moulin Rouge inspired take on Ivy, Harley and Catwoman. I'm probably going to be the first to have mine finished since I need it for work by October, but I've got it sketched out and I think it'll be alright. Hopefully still recognizable.

you still see a lot of the classic cocsutmes actually. probably because they are so much easier. 1 month before a con which would you rather do, grey spandex with a bat on it, or lucius fox's crazy separated plate, titanium, kevlar, triweave, blah blah blah. i'm not saying it's what i'd rather do. but half the people who dress up at cons aren't... well... cosplayers if that makes sense

Well there are not dificult ways to get away with the armor. But most are glued on a wetsuit and a wetsuit while great in the water could get really hot in a summer convention.

The classic or any of the comic incarnations have there dificulties too sewing the suit so none of the seams pop. The right tightness of the suit, gloves, boots, the cowl, and cape.

Picking a theme that works for the individualy costumer. The adam west era meaning supplex suit, satin (briefs , cape gloves), leather boots, leather/satin cowl. Also the all essentail right ultilty belt. This style works the best for a not well defined costumer.

Any of the comic book incartnations which means spandex bodysuit and briefs, but leather gloves and boots, leather cape and latex cowl. This needs a more tactile ultilty belt. This style works much better on a guy that has more definition in the chest and arms.

The latex armoured one as seen in the movies works better on a more fit and trim guy as the armor adds the bulk. but if the guy has more bulk scaling the armor thickness down so it doesnt overpower is a good idea.

this is very true. i don't know too much about having glasses. is it too expensive to match his perscription at a local optomatrist?

For what, lenses to put into a bat cowl? Umm in general, you need an eye exam before you can get a prescription from the doc. They can take your glasses and they have this neato machine that reads the prescription from the angle and such from the lenses. But they wouldn't just hand that to you and let you walk off. They make you have an exam.
In general though, purchasing lenses that could be inserted into a cowl would be incredibly expensive. I'd need to have the cowl at the office for fitting, as well as the fact that lenses run in the 200 dollar range >.<;; And that's without supercustomfancy stuff.
The reason I mentioned his military glasses is just that he wears the civvies more often than the military issue. Only when he has to go with the gas mask does he bother with those. Unfortunately that happens so, no chance of that. xP

Well since its the same type of mask as robins. Liquid latex, spirit gum, or a thin fishline strap.

Hey hey, all of your Harleys out there! I'm about to start working on a Harley costume myself, and I was wondering how did you get your mask to stay on your face?

I used Ben Nye Aqua Cake makeup ^__^ Aqua Cake because I have super oily skin, and it totally didn't clog my pores or anything. it was lovely! I did two layers of white over most of my face, all but the majority of where the mask would be. Then I lined the mask using black eyeliner, and filled it in with more Ben Nye. What I like about that option is, unlike liquid latex, you can move your face. A lot. And Harl's mask was actually designed so that the top pieces of her mask actually move as her eyebrows and are very expressive ^^

Joker cutting up Harleys face!? - Whoa, that IS Dark, Tigress!
Did you notice in theTDK how the Jokers story of how he got his scars keeps changing when he re-tells it? ..I'm thinking now that he probably did it to himself and just makes up these sob stories, because he's twisted.. This is the darkest Joker ever!!

Actually, it's moreso that he's forgotten the real reason because it was so traumatizing...so any of those could be the real reason.

New photos in my gallery, I met a friend and we cosplayed at Navy Pier last week. I was also lucky to find Rubies' Joker wig at Factory Card & Party Outlet (Although I'm not too happy about the price at $25 when it was cheaper online, but I needed it ASAP) and it's surprisingly good.

I got the idea of the face-cutting because it almost happened in the comic books. In Batman #663, Harley was helping Joker with his scheme of killing all his henchmen, unaware that Joker planned to kill her last. He backs off when she defends herself, saying he won't kill her, but would prefer if she were disfigured. As he's tracing a razor against her cheek, Batman attacks him and Harley shoots Joker in the shoulder.

Seeing the Ledger Joker's unholy fascination with knives, the two images just clicked in my head as I was planning my Harley.

I didn't know that story line. Man ..he's just Baaaaad.

S'why he's one of my favorite villains. There's no rhyme or reason to him being evil. He's just insane and that's all there is to it. In that respect, he's the perfect foil to Batman, since he's everything Batman is not.

WAY too many villains are iterations of "Mommy didn't love me enough" or "I'm avenging some heinous wrong from my past, but I'm being a complete 'tard about it". What's so wrong of having a character be evil for the sake of being evil?

I did Scarecrow / Dr. Jonathan Crane back in 2005, just after Batman Begins was released.
http://www.cosplay.com/costume/127351/

I later did an original Poison Ivy, but this year I'll be working on Roxy Rocket for Dragon*con, as well as help my boyfriend with his Joker costume (from The Dark Knight).

This thread has alot of amazing costumes, and I have to say I love your Crane. Before I decided to make my own costume, and I was just glancing around here, I saw yours and I loved it. Its a fairly simple costume but still amazing.

I've recently made a Jonathan Crane costume though I lack alot of my props. The comic version gives him more justice but I loved Cillian's version too. I plan on making the comic version someday though [with that big ass sythe and everything lol ]

Also, if anybody wants to do an alternate Joker costume, there was that one scene where he tries to kill the mayor in the cop outfit.

Ahah, makes sense. Although since I've gone to downtown Chicago plenty of times, it feels like I'm walking through Gotham City.

A lot of the scenes for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (out doors anyways) were shot in Chicago. Just go to Flickr (http://www.flickr.com) and search the following key words: Chicago, Dark Knight, Set, Gotham, Police, etc..

Actually, it's from the Chicago PD. I did see someone at Wizard World Chicago as Cop Joker, except he had the face paint. Wish I could've taken a picture...

Actually, the police uniforms and cop cars are heavily influenced from New York's police. This conclusion comes from hours of comparing color schemes, designs, and uniforms in detail. Also, Gotham cops don't wear checkered hats. :bigtu: I am not so sure about the dress uniforms though. I need to do more research on that.

I am looking for a replica SWAT vest that they used in the movie. I've already googled the hell out of tactical vests to no avail. The ones they are wearing seem to be padded. (clicky to see picture here (http://borzou.net/tmp/GCPD_SWAT.jpg)).

Got more of Ivy done! This is actually not quite as much as I have done, I've got trim on the skirt, which looks like this (http://i33.tinypic.com/14m9toi.jpg). The socks I'm wearing aren't quite right, they're the same color but they've got kind of gold swirly designs on them - I just don't have them so I borrowed ones that my room mate has that are similar. Corset, also not the correct color, that's going to be a light green baroque with silver in it. This shirt is also still in progress, but its kind of similar to the one I'm actually wearing, only with looser sleeves. But yes. At least I'm trying to get it done before halloween.

So the Convention is over and it was a lot of fun. Of course not everyone got that I was NOT doing the TDK-Joker but a more Comic-inspired one,
It's a great costume Toji_Chiba. (and so is Harleys ;) ) TDK joker is the popular new kid on the block but there is still plenty of room for the comic designs too in the hearts of those who know their subject. :)

hey, i'm doing a bunch of different versions of the jokers costumes. you know how he has a crazy wardrobe of nothing but purple. well here are the ideas i'm working on right now.

Boxer Joker (Last laugh #6)
the joker dressed as a boxer getting ready to fight batman

General Joker (last laugh #5)
the joker comanding an army of jokerized fiends

Jason todd t-shirt joker (Hush Vol 2)
the normal purple tail coat and pants but the orange shirt is subbed for an orange t-shirt that says "I killed Jason Todd and all i got was this lousy T-shirt"

let me know what you think and if you have any other ideas

sorry to post this again but i really want some feedback

Hey guys, I'm working on a Dark Knight Harley Quinn to go with my friend who is doing TDK Joker, and I have one teaser pic up http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1740697/ but I want to add some more to it, to still get the "jester" feel, since her name is a play off Harlequinn, but not make it too cartoony or over the top, since this IS Dark Knight, and everything is downplayed.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

It looks cute so far! From...what little I could see cuz the pictures superdark >.<;; I think that's the point though? Hence teaser picture? Anyhoo.
For the more "jesterized" feel, I would go with something other than a tartan skirt o.O Maybe a black miniskirt, with three red diamonds on it? They don't even have to be big or noticeable; it's just what came to my mind ^^ I figure the mini skirt is a "sexier" feel and the sex appeal of Harley as a character is something that would be rather important in the TDK style. Idunno, for some reason the tartan skirt just makes me think she either dropped in from Scotland or is a twelve year old girl at a private school.
Hmmm maybe put little bells in the pigtails? Like on the band holding them up? There's a jester feel for ya =P Could also, for a practical as well a useful side, use a deck of cards and packing tape to make a purse for her to carry around ;)
That's really all I can think of ^^ It's also kind of hard to see what the costume is now, but good luck with everything!! :D

Maybe next time. Your Joker was at the DC shoot and I was wondering why you weren't there with us. I was the only Harley there that got a group shot with all the Jokers!

I'll have to wear Harley to more cons. Though the make-up is a bitch to put on (especially the scars, which I have to make from scratch every time), I love skipping around and being a total spazz.

And thanks Shichi! It's great, it's a cotton-lycra mix, so I feel like I'm wearing footie-hood PJs all day! xD

Also, Rassool, I like the boxing idea, but I think some of the "gentleman" aspect of the Joker's suit would be interesting to pull into it :3

Alright... I'm finally going to jump in on this... ^^;;;; I've been watching this thread since about when it started... ^^;;;;;;

I'm doing Harley. I love the character, just LOVE her. And sadly, I relate to her waaaaaay too much... ^^;;; That being said, I actually want to do a bunch of versions of her costume..

Harleen Quinzel-ya, I wanna do the suit ^^;;;
Classic Harley-It's about 40% done. I have the hood, the mask, the shoes, gloves, and collar done... I'm making the entire thing out of latex, because I just LOVE http://www.desktoprating.com/wallpapers/anime-wallpapers-pictures/harley-quinn-joker-wallpaper.jpg this look....
Progress shots-
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1737496/
http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1575960/
PJ Harley-You know when she teams up with Ivy, and they're both lounging around in big white shirts? I want to do that ^^;;;
Little red dress-from when she tries to seduce Mistah J and fails miserably ^^;;
Nurse Harley-'nuff said ^^;;;
Nolanverse Harley- I just finished the design for this last night...
http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h190/XJonetsuX/?action=view&current=230525.jpg
And then there'd be a roughed up suit jacket over it, half and half... I've seen a lot of people trying to do this... And I've honestly been really really conflicted with how to do it. Because you have to keep quintessential Harley, and you have to think about what aspects are going to be played up, and which would be played down in a Nolan setting... I personally think that he would focus a lot more on the "addicted to Mistah J" aspect of it... She'd be a little messier, a little crazier, a little more on edge... but you can't forget her roots. She was brilliant, and she is a full grown woman. I've seen a lot of designs with the pleated miniskirts, and converse, and they just seem to ignore that aspect of her... it doesn't register as Harley to me, because there has to be that contradiction. She may be ditzy and adorable, but she's NOT stupid, and she's NOT a teenager with a crush. She's a full grown woman addicted to the Joker like crack... Which is why I went for the more 'adult' look... I want to do it with full red pieces, and hand dye the black parts, because I think that slightly messy look would work... and compliment Mistah J's look ^^ I'd still do the white makeup, have it a lot neater than J's, but do the black around the eyes all smudged up and almost always look like she's been crying, but always smiling anyways, with nice clean lipstick... I really tried to keep the Harlequin aspect of it, because having a character named Harley Quinn without a Harlequin motif just seems kinda wierd to me ^^;;;; And then, instead of the hood, do a red and black beat up jester hat... Ok, ya, I'm way too excited about doing this... ^^;;; What do you think?

AWESOME job on those shoes!!! :D What did you use for the soles?

I really like your Nolanverse Harl a LOT. Better than most I've seen. You've kept the sex appeal (which is important as her character, and something I would imagine that she would emphasize in the NV). I like the makeup idea too. I don't think she would carbon copy Joker, cuz she's her own person to a degree. did you incorporate her diamonds too? What about doing a "tatoo" maybe on her leg or shoulder or shoulder blade of the three diamond set? That would be a cute way to incorporate them ^__^
Would those gloves be fingerless gloves or little bell sleeves? I like the bell sleeve idea. It's reminiscent of the harlequin era, as well as very feminine. :)

Jonetsu
09-27-2008, 02:48 AM
hm.... You know, I didn't even think of that! I was thinking fingerless gloves (more because I hate wearing fingered ones than anything) but that could work too, though I think the gloves would look better with the jacket.... There are diamond designs on the outfit, in all the same places they were before, actually. Personally I think that if you want to do body modification diamonds.... it should be scars.... I think she'd want something she could do herself-and it relates more to her puddin'. And thanks ^_^ I do think that she'd want to be "beautiful" for Mistah J...

And Cyporian... I can think of a few. You can use wonderflex, or sintra, or leather...

The shoes were originally little ballerina slippers from wal-mart-I made black fabric covers for them, pried the sole off, and glued them back on over the covers. I then painted them with liquid latex in the right colors (I think it took like 20 coats >.<) and finished them with this clear stuff... I can't remember the name of it, but it's a clear drying flexible adhesive that you mix half and half with water, and it seals the latex and keeps it from getting too sticky. ^^

Just a little to share on my part :) All you gals doing Harley, I decided to try....whala! Dr. Quinzel XD

http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/127793/

Just for fun!

Though I think I'm going to stick with that one as well, since it's a lesser-done version.

Also, for Dark Knight Harley, what do you guys think about this?

pants, in her jester style, so red and black, with the diamonds, very similar to her classic version. Red and black shoes, opposite of her pants of course - combat boots?

shirt almost like a mid-drift, showing a little skin, 3/4 length sleeves. Again, with the black and red, very similar to her classic, alternated against the pants. Black and red fingerless gloves, and white bracelets (nothing huge and bulky of course, but enough to get the white around the wrists)

Around the neck keep the white jester piece (the name of that eludes me at the moment..). Hair in pigtails, maybe red and black ribbons? or no? As for the makeup, white face - neck and ears? or no?, slightly messier eye makeup, perfect lips

Your thoughts are appreciated!

Jonetsu

I <333 the Dr. Quinzel look. ^_^

I think the TDK idea sounds good-I'm not sure I like the bracelets though... ^^;;; It seems a little too clean to fit into Nolan's universe... Maybe try it out both ways and take pictures?

I can't wait to keep working on it!! I have the bootcover parts done-I just need to dye one black, and find some black pumps to spraypaint one red... Going to be trying to make it look messy, make it look like it was done by someone who isn't a costumer, but managed to throw it together ^^;;;;

Classic harley... all I have left is to put on the base bodysuit and drench myself in about 20 coats of latex O.o ^^;;;;; shoud be fun.

Elendriel
09-28-2008, 01:37 AM
You think maybe the white bands around her wrists that she had, similar to her classic version?

and woot for pumps! I <3 my Dr. Quinzel pumps, they're extremely comfortable, though I honestly thought they'd end up being painful!

yikes on latex o.o good luck!

lol Thanks Tigress ^^ I'm going to head to my local ARC tomorrow, and start it. ^^

Cloaked Schemer-Hrm... that's better... maybe even do white studded leather bracelets, and rough them up around the edges. Or the ruffles, and just get them nice and dirty... smudge some makeup on them, and just wear them around a few times to mess them up a bit. maybe even take a seamripper to the edges (just a little) to give it that beat-up look.

Thanks! You never know... none of us know exactly what Nolanverse Harley would be, but I wanted to give it a slightly edgy feel, but still stay true to the Harlequin idea, since I don't think he would've strayed too far from it.

Make-up wise, white face, and I was going to paint on the mask but give it a more Harlequin-type feel, let it run a little in some places - I couldn't decide, however, if I should keep it all the way across my face (like her classic domino mask) or just do the eyes - what do you think?

As for the lips, still black, maybe with a hint of red, but perfect - nothing messy there, I think Harley would want it to stay nice.

Rassool-I like it, but I don't think it's going to be the look I want ^^;;;

Harleys! Today I was out shopping (I needed some fangs ^^;;;) and I picked up some foundation at Hot Topic called White Heat by Bloody Mary. It's a powder compact, you can use wet or dry, and it's beautifully white. It takes a couple layers, but it gives the consistency of powder, doesn't crack, and it goes on evenly. And it gets whiter the more coats you put on ^^ White! (http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h190/XJonetsuX/Harley/?action=view&current=224555.jpg)

As for Nolanverse progress- Here (http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h190/XJonetsuX/Harley/?action=view&current=230123.jpg) are the pieces I picked up, pre-dyeing O.o I've gotten the one leg black by now, I used leather dye instead of fabric dye because there's no way that fabric is natural ^^;;;; The coat should be ready shortly, and I'm kinda terrified to start on the dress, because that has to be bleached in somewhat straight lines.... I didn't find a red one ^^:;;;
