Hey this is just a heads up for every one not from the Baltimore Washington area. Pandora's cube is a store that is usually in the Dealers room. They won't have any at Otakon but they deal HEAVILY in bootlegs, which when asked they will often try to pass off as legitimate imports. They also sell fansubs for profit and have often edited out the fansubber warning that tells people that if they paid more then the cost of a tape they are being ripped off. They have been known to sell bootlegs of movies that are currently in theaters, or movies that have not even premired yet! Another thing they did was tell people that parents had sued RockStar Games and so the game had been banned and they would no longer be able to get new orders, so they raised the price to around $76! They are ridiculously overpriced too. Pandora's usually gets the table closest to the Dealer's Room door so people are more apt to spend their money there. You can definetly find a better price elsewhere in the dealers room it will just take some looking. I'm just posting this to give people a head's up as some people don't like to support people who sell bootlegs and so people don't get ripped off. This same post opened quite the pandora's box on the Otakon board, so if you don't mind the stuff I posted by all means go there

Just an add on: The Otakon admins do know about the cubes bootleg stuff, but PC knows they can't sell it at the con. If you see them selling something obviously bootleg you can tell the con staff. Even if all the stuff they sell at the con is legit though, they really do jack up their prices.

Oh I know Pandoras Cube!!! theres one in SpringField Plaza...i go there just to see what they have.....and yes the prices are Too high!!...but i only go their cuz they have some LICENSED Anime dvds that Suncost hasn't gotten in yet....so thats why i go there and maybe a cd or 2. but thats mostly it. Pandora's Cube is ridiculous, I agree. They want to mod playstation 2s for 200 when the mod chip costs 75! I'm busy trying to find a place that can mod my PS2 cheaper.

Oh man Daala and my sister and I like to call Pandora's Cube.. "Pandora's Rip-off" It sucks cuz they're one of the few stores in the area that we can go to get imports...

Does anyone know if G-Sentry is any good at all?

*looks at NekoCathy since she lives in the area*

G-Sentry is a very good Anime import store. Most of the stuff they sell are from the Anime series Chobits and DiGi Charat and they have Anime movies to rent that haven't even came out to the US yet. Hardly much of their stuff is bootlegged unlike Creature Zone out in Rockville. They had a booth set up in the dealers at Katsucon, but I don't think they'll have one for Otakon. One of my friends is trying to talk the manager into it since they're both friends and all... I love G-sentry. The prices are reasonable and the people there are fun to talk to. Good hangout place! :)

I was in Columbia two weekends ago and I agree that it doesn't have a lot. G-Sentry is off of Shaday Grove rd in Gaithersburg.

This topic or something to same fact was posted over at the Otakon boards, so the admins over there know about it.

http://www.gsentry.com/ I've heard good things about them, and I actually know about where that is though I've never been there. :D

For import games I'd say Starland Video Games (http://www.starlandvg.com/contactus.html); they usually have a good selection and the people there are decent, unlike P^3.

If any one lives in the Baltimore area I suggest Legends on York Rd. in Towson. I've been going there for years and even if I'm just standing at the counter reading animerica they don't seem to have a problem...buying stuff ever once in awhile helps though. They have tons of comics, legit anime, manga, and toys..not really extensive selection though 'cause it is a small store by the same token they are a little more expensive than a bigger store...just giving props to my local favorite!!

I've been to Pandora's cube before. I don't go any more 'cause it's right by the Springfield interchange and traffic isn't to good, but yeah PC is loaded with bootlegs, and very little licensed DVD's (well...the last time i went) I saw them at Otakon and i didn't buy anything from them because they don't lower their prices at all. And the quality of their fansubs suck.

Starland is pretty cool tho. ^_^
