Ok, hello. I'm a beginner, and I have a very good idea for a OC Naruto Character. The main piece of clothing is a jumper-ish shirt that is like Temari's first outfit (mid thigh), except without the front part that opens up and with slits on the side. How would I go about making this and what would be the best fabric for it if I want to wear it in the summer? Here is the sketch.http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/62/kurikanoe002uu7.png

BE prepared to stop every 10 feet and have to explain your character to everyone. It happens. I was just an ANBU black op once and had to stop a lot to explain to people who asked who I was, that I wasn't anyone specific, I was just an ANBU. ^.^

Anyways, If you want it lighter/dressier, I would go with a light linen/muslin sort of fabric. Joann's always has some good linen concoctions that I have used a few times. Cotton blends are always good too. I'm psycho about being comfortable so if I'm laying, I always like to have the layer thats against my skin made of cotton or something super soft.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make the dress/apron piece? My grandmother said it was a-line style from looking at the design.
