View Full Version : Getting scuffs off vinyl boots?

Does anybody know how to get black marks off white vinyl? The surface of my boots is undamaged, but there are a number of black marks (including from when the elevator door closed on my foot...x.x;; ) that I'd like to get rid of.

go to a sotre and find white gaurd shoe polish and use that then afterward treat the shoe surface with mink oil so they wont scratch up as easily!

good luck

if the boots aren't damaged it might be a scuff that water or rubbing it with just your finger might get out. Try using your nail too and see if you can get it to come off without damaging the boots themselves it might be that black rubberyish scuff that most shoes tend to get. If you go the shoe polish route test it in a inconspicuous area where it won't be that noticible incase something happens with the polish mixing with the materials of the boots. You don't wanna end up with a yucky mess if that happens ^_^; Stuff like goo gone might help too it's an orage extract type of liquid and I think it might get out scuff marks and it shouldn't damage your shoes. It works wonders on getting that price tag residue off a box ^_^;

Also if there is a place to test that wouldn't show much - might try windex in a circular motion to see if it will get any off. Crest toothpaste will also clean some stuff, was able to remove black tire blowout marks off my old car with it by buffing in circular motion - car also smelled mint fresh (paste also cleans silverware and the like too).
