As i was in the shower this morning something hit me. I thought about the movie John Carpenters The Thing and i realized how similar it is to RE 0 but it is much too similar to be a coincidence. First I'll go with the general similarities. The leeches in the game all have their own mind set but can form together and create a human like form alot like in The Thing. The leeches try to become human and in the case of marcus, can imitate the human form alot like is seen in the thing. The leeches also have a weekness to fire as The thing does. Now the general simularities could be debated but even the movement of the last boss gives it away. Watch these two clips.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eZT-f8hzXo watch the first movement the monster does. It also explains the simularity between the thing and how the leeches act.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR5Zz0s97nI watch the monsters first movement like in the last clip. It even mutates the same was as in The Thing.

Very interesting.

I also urge anyone who hasn't seen Carpenter's The Thing, to see it. I think modern Resident Evil could learn a lot from it, specifically in horror.

Yea The Thing is a masterpeice of both horror and suspense. As a person whos actually envolved in the special FX industry, it still is one of the most impressive monster designs of all time.
