Ello!
I was wondering if anyone knew of any Dance Dance Revolution games that has good music.
Right now I only have DDR Max2, and the music sucks. (no offense to anyone who might like music on the game.:) )
Any recommendations?
Thanks,

I'm partial to the songs DDR 3rd Mix because it was the new and popular one when I was really into the game years ago. All of the classics are there, like Butterfly, Boom Boom Dollar, etc, albeit sometimes remixed.

Is there a difference? It's all bubblegum techno.

Yeah, I was going to say that they all sorta have the same sort of songs, but I think the earlier games had more quality music and then it just started to go downhill. I mean, it was 4th or 5th Mix that had a Britney Spears cover...

Pretty much any of the games before Supernova on PS2. Stay far away for the ones for Wii/360/Xbox/GameCube.

Oh, dear God. Which song of hers?

I looked it up and it was 5th Mix where they had long versions. It was "Oops! I Did It Again". To counter this, that game at least had T.M.Revolution's Hot Limit which kept drawing me back to it!

Depends on what you mean by good music. And depends if you want home or arcade mixes. I take it you want home, so your best bet is probably Ultramix 2 for the Xbox, my personal favorite. That, or In the Groove with some more hard techno oriented songs.

Arcade mixes vary, and they all have ranges from aforementioned bubblegum techno crap (Kylie, that Days Go By song, etc.) to some really good J-music. In general, though, the music selection has been commercialized, so expect lots of bad songs.

Now, if you want Beatmania...;p

I can't stand Supernova. They have so many girly songs like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Since You've Been Gone. DDR Extreme for the PS2 in the US was butchered since they took out most of the songs and replaced some of the songs that was in the arcade with other pop songs. I forget the names of the artist and I think Village People's YMCA is in it.

I would say DDR Konami Mix, DDR Max, DDR Max 2, and the arcade version of DDR Extreme has the best music.

If you really want to play a DDR with good music, then import the Japanese releses or play at the arcade. You'll find mainly pop music familiar to American audiences in the US releases of DDR games past DDRMaxUS.

P.S.- 4th Mix Plus and 5th Mix were the best arcade releases, though Supernova2 with eAmuse is high up there as well. <3

First part = truth
Second part = A Linkin Park cover. And no eAmuse in the States. And Dead End Mix (AKA RANDOM ARROWS AND BEAT). That completely and unfortunately diminishes the wonderfulness that is Votum Stellerum, NGO, etc.

But yeah, go for foreign stuff. You could also go for Stepmania?

I love how every DDR thread inevitable goes back to Stepmania.
