yo this will be my first time at megacon and im worried about the line does it take a very long time? Is megacon worth the travel ? How much fun was it ? is it hard to find the location. Also can the crowd make it hard to find people and not get lost?

If it puts your mind at rest at all: I fly from Boston to Orlando for Megacon and this will be my forth year. I really enjoy this con and the people that I see there. The dealers are great, the artists are amazing and the music is always top notch (Vidoll yum). Megacon is a huge great dealers room. It's not like your average anime con and the focus is not on a huge masquerade. It's more chill and more relaxed while still being extremely fun.

It, however, is not an anime con so don't go expecting Jacon because you are going to get Megacon. The attendees are a bit older, more focused on sci-fi (yay) and the guests are less Vic Maranara Sauce (who will in fact be there so pardon the weak argument) and more the Editor-in-Cheif of Marvel Comics. The crowd is huge but they are good at handling it. We are even in the N/S concourse this year! I've never waited in line too long, especially with pre-reg never longer than 5 minutes.

I would highly recommend u preorder. I remember last year the line 4 tickets was close to 1 hour if not longer.

Cons are fun. Go with friends!

Yeah. The line will be hell. I've never actually been (this will be my first year) but a lot of the other members of my group have gone before and they say it does take a good couple of hours to purcahse a ticket in the line.
But we all live in Jacksonville and we're not actually leaving until around 5pm on friday and if you order online you have to pick up our tickets by 4pm. No way in hell we'll get there in time.
So I get to endure the line from Hell -_-

Well, by that time, I reckon the line won't be as bad. I have a friend coming in from Gainesville and will be arriving at 6. Last year I was part of a group wherein the other members arrive at 4-5 and didn't have to wait long for tickets.

I preordered my ticket with a half hour to spare. XD

My con anxiety? Getting this asjhgeuw costume done in time. D:

And finding people to hang out with. Stuff happened last year that I don't want happening again, so I really want to find friends I can hang out with until my best friend/roommate shows up. >_>

Oh, the line...I forgot about that! Yeah, expect to wait at least an hour in line. With emphasis on *least*. Last year, it was a long wait to get tickets, this year I'm hoping to get in line a bit earlier so maybe it won't be too much of a hassle. Saturday morning is probably the most busy traffic time for the registration line.

I love the atmoshere Mega has to offer, I must agree with LadyRayne on her accounts. It's more of a 'hangout with friends and hit up the gigantic dealer's room' con, and the guests are different. This is a multi-genre convention, and only a small fraction is anime. I love the blend of genres though, you get to see a lot of fandoms represented, and there aren't many cons around like it.

Waiting in line is fun! I purposefully wait for tickets at Megacon on Friday XD

You pplz have no idea how long a wait is until you've been to AX~ I appreciate the small lines at Megacon lol

i pre reg a long time ago, and im picking mine up on friday at about two. how bad is the pre reg line on friday? this will be my first megacon, but i heard its a lot of fun. my friends are going, so ill have someone to meet up with on saturday, plus i got the lunch to attend. i have heard the line is really long though. and im not realyl anxious liek i usually am for afo, i think the main reason is cause im trying to get my wig (which is almost done! just waiting for the glue to dry, then i can take out the bun and spray the ends to get them to stay in place!) and my costumes done. i guess cause my mind is on other things its easier for me.
and i love your avatar hime no toki. did you make the costume and do the wig yourself?

line isnt too bad, not nearly as bad as saturday.

03-05-2008, 08:52 PM
hahah sucks that the only day i'm going is saturday. I guess I'll be bringing some shoes to wear while in line. Tomorrow I go out to get the fabric to make the boot covers for my skates.

Pre-registering ftw!
However this is my first Megacon, I hope its as fun as some folks have mentioned to me.
