I wanted to make a cosplay of Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts for a convention that I'm going to. But only two things puzzle me about the costume

The first thing is the shoulder pads. I was thinking just taking two baseball helmets and modifying them into shoulder pads, but I have no idea how I would go about cutting/modifying them into the style I'd want them to be. If anybody has any tips on how I can go about this, or a new idea on making them it would be appreciated.

Now the wing. I honestly have no idea how to go about it. If somebody can show me a tutorial on how to make one it would be cool, or throw in suggestions. Thank you :)

I forget what sepiroth's shoulder pads look like in kingdom hearts but you might want to look into something easier to work with like craft foam or paper mache over chicken wire mesh. Any of these can be painted with modeler's paint to make it look metallic.

I'm not sure you want to go mucking around with heavyweight plastics unless you have the tools for it.

Another option is to go to the thrift shop and look for cheap plastic bowls or something that might be the right shape and cannibalize those.

I had the same problems as you... I just bought a wing off ebay, added wires to the wing, added a few REALLY stiff wires where the wing should come out, made a slit in the coat, and use a combination of safety pins and duct tape to attach it to my back. I would like to hear what you did for the shoulder pads because the ones I made turned out really crappy and I ended up not using them...

I used *gasp* fiberglass for my paldrons and they are coming out really nicely so far. i dont think the helmet would look very good =/. ive seen it done before and you can tell it was a helmet at one point.

as for the wing, I figured it out for myself, so can you ^_~ its funner that way :D

I'm currently working on a mechanical single wing set-up. If you'd like to see my preliminary drawings, I'll be more than happy to share my basic ideas.
