I"am having a friend work on a Full Metal Alchemist Military costume for me. I have been having issues like many other people on the exact blue. They have found this site to order material from but I feel the color might still be off.

(Dark Royal vs. Light Navy). I'm bending to Dark Royal...

Does anyone know of other sites with more accurate colors material?

The site says that swatches are available on request. I'd probably go with light navy based on the website but computer screen colors vary - so swatches! I wouldn't be as concerned about the color though as I would about the fabric weight and drape. The home page mentions medical and school uniforms. Fabric for those won't necessarily be appropriate for a military uniform.

There are so many versions of the "blue" for the military uniforms. Some like the dark navy, some like the lighter version (as in the anime). I personally went with the lighter because it matched a plushie version of Roy my friend had.

It really depends on your personal preference. As said above it's about fabric weight and drape. The heavier the better for the jacket and buttcape.

I've seen a variety of colors for the uniforms (all shades of blue) and each has their pros and cons.

I Am in my school's health careers's academy, we wear royal blue scrubs that are the same color as the FMA uniforms. I would be cautious and go with dark royal. Navy blue is more like a Marines dress uniform.
