I've been to megacon (awesome except for the screaming at around 5pm lol), and I had a blast.

Where should I go next? How is it compared to megacon? Will there be vendors? Please let me know because I'm now hooked :(

come with us to jacon. its in about two months, so that gives you time to get prepared. ive never been though, so i dont know how it is compared to megacon. if you need more time, then you can go to afo, which compared to megacon, its relatively small. i love it though because it gives you a chance to chill and meet more people. plus, it has panels for everyone. ive always found at least three on saturday for me to enjoy.

Or you can go to Florida Supercon at the end of May in Weston.

If you're looking for a 25k+ person convention with a huge dealer room and celebs, you'll have to go to Dragon-con in Atlanta (labor day weekend).

The remaining conventions (anime specific) in Florida are smaller (5000 people as opposed to 25000), and are in various areas across the state. Most of those conventions have more anime panels/contests/viewings with smaller dealer rooms.

A basic list is (in order of appearance):
-------------------------------------
Fitcon (Melbourne, FL)
Anime Express (Daytona, FL)
Jacon (Orlando, FL)
FLSupercon (Ft.Lauderdale, FL)
Metrocon (Tampa, FL)
Anime Festival Orlando (Orlando, FL)
Dragon-Con (Atlanta, GA)
Anime Weekend Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)
Janicon (Jacksonville, FL)

These all range in size (the largest being AWA and D-con). There are other conventions as well (NarutoTrek, EXPcon, etc), but I do not know when or wear those are.
