I don't know if it's just me and my friends, but we all do funny things when we play games, and I was just wondering if you guys did anything weird/funny when you guys play games.

I think the weirdest thing me and my one friend do is talk to the game. I'm always swearing at the enemies, especially if they hit me or something. I'll sit there and be like "You wanna hit me bitch? Oh, bring it, bring it. Didn't see that comin' did ya? Did ya? That's right. Now you're screwed...That's right...." And it kind of goes on to this rambling victory rant. XD

While other times I'll try to like, cheer on my character/s. I'll be sitting there going "C'mon you can do it! C'mon Tidus, you're a man right? What would your dad thin--Shit, he died! Godamn it Tidus! This is why nobody likes you!"

Does anybody, or any of your friends do anything weird/funny when they play games?

When a character I'm controlling is leaning over to look at something to the side, I will physically lean over slightly too because it feels like I'll see more of the object if I do. >_> That also happens when a character is driving some type of vehicle. I'll start turning where you would be turning if you were in that vehicle.

I also swear when some enemy hits a character really hard. I've said "ow..." before according to my friends.

Well, this isn't really funny, but I'm an obsessive saver. And I mean OBSESSIVE. All of my friends laugh at me. The worst is with Zelda or other games where you can save at any point. Man when I played Ocarina of Time for the first time I saved at the bottom of Death Mountain, and then I saved at the top of the mountain, and then I saved when I got the goron to stop rolling around, and so on. ^^

Haha, I know what you mean. XD I have a friend who makes fun of me because I had like 84 saves on my Resident Evil File, halfway through the game. O_o

I enjoy making people watching me play get pissed at me because I'm "too" confident in my skills. Showing off I am.

Example, playing through Resident Evil 3 on hard with no extras and not saving once. My friend the whole time was like "FOR GODS SAKE SAVE, NEMESIS WILL EAT YOU"

I also talk to my games, well, insult them, acuse them of cheating, etc.

I basically do everything that has been said in the thread so far. Obsessive saving, ducking/turning as if that's gonna help me see something on the screen better, taunting enemies as if they can hear me, etc. Hahaha. I only do the taunting thing when my boyfriend's in the room, usually, and it amuses him.

But yeah, I will save after just the smallest change happens. I gain a level, I learn a secret, I open a treasure chest. I will save. I totally understand that, TheLadySummoner! What you said about Zelda sounds like me, haha!

I get kinda OCD in RPGs when it comes to leveling. I'll be like "Okay, before we leave this area we were getting to level 5" and I'll usually keep rounding up like that. "I know there's a boss at the end of this area, so I'm making everyone in my level 12 party get to level 15!" This stops once I get too lazy to keep doing it, or the experience between levels gets too big.

When it becomes obvious that I'm going to fail at a task I kill myself in the most amusing way possible. In LoZTP, I totally sucked at snow-boarding, but as a Zelda completionist there was no way I was not gonna get that damn heart piece. When I knew that I wasn't gonna beat old peanut-ass or his wife in a run, I'd leap off a cliff and scream things like "I DON'T WANT TO LIIIIIVVVVVEEE!" "DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR!" "GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!" It made my son insane. :crylaugh:

I also love to make Link crash into things just for the hell of it. I also kinda liked drowning him.

First of all, I'm a terrible button masher, but getting better...
I'm known for throwing hissy-fits when I loose, and screaming at the character who beat me. I also accuse the came of cheating, about it 'not being possible for a HUMAN to do that, so why can a computer?'...
I also cheer on charcters, I even sit and watch the exhibition battles that happen in some games when you don't push 'start' in time, screaming like it's real 'GO KILIK!' or whoever...

Haha, XD All of these are so funny!

Another habit of mine is like, obsessive calculating, I only do it when I play FFX though. I'll literally sit there with a calculator and a pad of paper and I will calculate the damage of all the enemy's attacks, and sometimes (Like when I fought Seymour the second time) I studied his attacks and found a pattern to the way he uses his magic. I only do these on like, difficult bossess and stuff that I can't get by XD

Haha I do alot of these things...
Obbsessive saver-guilty
talking to the game/yelling at it/accusing-guilty
turning with car games or anything like that-guilty(so is my mom lol)
And when I play guitar hero or DDR and I know the song I sing along...Hey it's fun!lol

During fighting games like Tekken or Soul Calibur, I have a tendency to stand up and sort of sway side to side a little. Or for any game actually that has me sitting down for unholy amounts of time.

When something bad happens, I have the tendency to repeat the same swear word in quick sucession so it starts blending together to create a sort of "shishishishi" sound.

Whenever I cease to win at a game like when fighting tough bosses or i'm just having too much difficulty (fighting games not so much if it's against another human, but cpu totally), I acuse it of cheating, then go about, after I've given up, and tell everyone in my entire house that the game cheats and that's why I'm not playing it anymore. I normally go back to the game a few hours later, desperate to win again.

I also move my head when playing racing games or air plane games. I can't help it. I'm going to make a horrible driver one day.

i pretty much do everything that is said thus far except for the obsessive saving.
in ffx2 i ABSO-FRIKK'N-LUTELY love blitzball for whatever reason.i pretty much get the best characters up as high as i can and then i start a match(usually the kilika beasts because i laugh at them when my team beats them in less than 2 minutes) as i watch i just mash the R1 until that star meter thing fills to the top.then i just sit back and scream at my tv,chanting and stuff.i end up getting yelled at to be quiet and then i just whisper my cheers.
sometimes i even sing along with the victory fanfare everytime i win a battle in ff tactics war of the lions or ff6.in ff6 i sometimes do that pixelated laugh that kefka does.
but my most recent thing is playing first person shooters and yelling "BOOM!HEADSHOT!!" everytime i take a shot at an enemy's head with a sniper rifle.

The obssessive saving and talking to the game sound quite a bit like me...However I would have to say some of the funniest habits are those of my friends. During a difficult battle or somewhere where concentration is a must, watching the expressions on their faces makes me shake with silent laughter! (I would never dare to laugh out loud, for fear of causing my friend to lose the concentration they had. Also, the longer they play, the more ridiculous the expressions get.)

Haha, I know what you mean. XD Except for some reason I say "FACE!" lol. So whenever I hit a zombie or something in the face, or get a headshot I just scream "FACE!"

My friend actually mentioned once that when I play and am really concentrated, my mouth starts to hang open.

That same friend also has a tendency to throw controlers. When we're playing a scary game, and something happens that scares her, she tends to throw the controller halfway across the room (As if it was some monster or something) so then I have to like, matrix my way over to it and hit the pause button before we die. XD

I have a crapload of odd habits when playing:

In Guitar Hero,I play as Izzy and well...his odd qwirks make me freak out for some reason.I twitch,I scream and I sometimes imitate his oddness.Yes,I oddly enjoy it.

Soul Calibur/Smash Bros,I mash buttons,I swear and yes...I even go absolutely nutters in it.Makes me a bit crazy,I know.

Ratchet and Clank...*sighs*I swear a lot in this game.Believe me...Deadlocked on Exterminator is EVIL.>_<

Neopets:The Darkest Faerie was THE HARDEST GAME EVER...loads of swearing at my PS2...

I'm the obsessive saver, which is pretty smart really, although it takes a lot of time if you add them up. I do the same for homework and video projects. I save after nearly every change, but especially after a big one, such as a level up, or the defeat of a difficult boss. You never know when your system may freeze up and provoke you to throw it out the window.

I understand the fealing.that happened to me once when i was facing the last boss in Grandia III.i havent saved the game since i started the second disk and the boss beat me in no time flat.i was so mad i WANTED to throw my ps2 out of a window but instead i just shut it off and popped in my copy of sonic mega collection+.

sometimes when i play that game-particularily sonic 3 and knuckles- i try to collect all of the chaos emeralds and super emeralds.all through the time it takes to jump high into the air and go into hyper sonic mode i say "i have the powerrrrrr!!!".<--((a "he-man" quote.)).after transforming i just go nuts with the flashing dash jump.((screen turns white when pressing the jump button twice with the left analog held in any direction.effect: KILLS ANY AND ALL MINOR ENEMIES ON SCREAN.i think it works when you fight against knuckles as well.))

I just like your 'matrix my way over to it.' But it's true. I like to throw controllers, without pushing pause.

Let's see....
I scream when playing Resident Evil 4 and something pops up. I also tend to throw the controller across the room without pushing pause so I'm always fucked when the zombies or whatever get me.
Hmmm.... I swear. A LOT. Like, I do without playing games, but WHEN playing games, I swear every other word. And when I kick a monsters ass, I always taunt like it can hear me in some way. Something along the lines of 'WHAT THE FUCK NOW YOU DUMB SHIT!!! HAHAHAHAHA! I WIN!'

My friend likes to madly shake the control stick above her head when it needs to be done.

In the older versions of Pokemon during a battle, I used to hold the left button and mash on the A button, hoping to get the opponent's life down more. And when I was capturing a Pokemon, I would mash on the A button in hoping that it would help capture it. Weird, I know. I don't do that anymore though.

Oh! Oh! I heard the same thing...I can't remember who told me but...I did it to!

Well...I obsessively mashed 'A' just whenever for the hell of it when playing Pokemon. I don't know why...But I did. Like...I'd sit there talk to people and be like "(a)Yeah (a)(a)(a)(a)Yeah that's (a)(a)GREAT...Now gimme stuffs >>"

I do that a lot with FFX too.

I am one with my controller. I actually don't sit on the couch because I fall asleep easily so I sit on the floor and lean back. For some reason I get so envolved in the game that I will make slight gestures when I turn or run even. I don't notice but my brother has make fun of me for it.

Also, I get so into the boss battle that I will not blink or not breathe apparently. I don't notice but my brother tell me that I look dead when I am in a battle, I am so concentrated. lol I want to tape myself once to see this.

I think talking to the game is a given for any gamer. Like when I kill something in an RPG that was so clearly easy I'll start talking trash "Ohhhh, didn't see that coming!" Or when in .hack one of my party dies and I try to bring them back but realize all my rez items are in Atoli's inventory and she's busy casting Repth on me even though I'm at full health so I can't use them I get all pissed off and bitch her out.

My special thing though, and this is normally only in FPSs. I'll hide around a corner where I know there are enemies, peak around and throw a grenade or something, then shout "Surprise!" at the tv. It works best though in like Halo 3. I'll charge a group of Brutes, throw out that plasma shield then run away. Just to piss them off. And yes, I believe the AI has the capacity to get pissed at me.

I grief. Every online game I've played, I've griefed someone in. In Battlefield, I'll heli someone to an empty area, in WoW, I'll bring high-level enemies to newbies through aggro. In CoD4, I'll harass the swear-happy teens, in CS:S, I'll spam "GET TO DA CHOPAH!!" in mic and text. It's hilarious.

Are you sure that's WoW because last time I check the monsters run back to their original position and by the time you got the "higher level" monsters to the "newbies" you would of had to A) Zone through a crapton of different zones. B) Managed to not kill them in the run of keeping their attention and C) Gotten the alleged newbie to attack the monster and draw enough of the aggro off of you, which unless they were twinked and could have dealt with the monster anyway it would not have happened. Quite frankly that is more of an FFXI move then a WoW move.

2. I regularly complain at games.

3. Sometimes there is a victory dance (I have a lot of dances).

4. I tend to furrow my brow, narrow my eyes, and stick my tongue out when I'm concentrating, but that's with everything, not just games. I don't usually realize I'm doing it until someone asks if I'm all right.

When I'm deep into a certain part of a game my leg will start to bounce as I get deeper into a level. That mostly happens in high stress parts like just before a completely empty level gets filled with enemies trying to ambush me. Also when I play online games where the party is only allowed a certain number of deaths before the quest fails, usually after someone has died twice, leaving us with only one more chance to get the quest done without dying. Also when I'm playing certain racing games and I get PO'd, I'd just start giving out the chrome horn like it was going out of style.
