This forum is open to those that wish to cosplay and pretend to BE the character from your favorite anime, or video game. However, I need to find out who would be the players, and who would like to join in the fun of making their costume worth wearing. The rules are simple for those that don't know how to play:

1. NO REAL HITTING (just pretend to hit/be hit)
2. NO SWEARING
3. Act it out. Make it as dramtic as you can.
4. NO REAL HARRASSMENT OF ANY KIND
5. Roll of the dice are final in each match. NO Re-rolls.
6. The one with the highest roll makes a hit.
7. You can only roll the dice 1 time for each round (If there's a tie, keep going and act out a draw of the dice. Then move on to the next round).
8. There are ONLY 5 rounds in each battle.
9. There can only be Two Players, and an even amount of cosplayers
10. Each player gets only 1 die to roll

I guess I could run this since I thought no one was, but if someone was running it before, they can run it still for 2008. I just thought that it'd be cool to get people (and I also mean [WHOOT,WHOOT] Candy Ninja , MY GOD I MISS HIM ) to join in on this fun game. I hope I can find a room, and duke out cosplayers with imagination. Other than that, I hope we can do this as an event on the event schedule. If I run it, I'll start it on Friday at 3:00pm, and Saturday at 12:00pm by the registeration table (or close to it, OR in a room). I'll try to get it to run every 2-3 hours or so. Depends on the Covention Director(s) if they want to support this idea. Hope that covers everything.

I have the rules ready on how this works:
This is basically a cosplay battle of pretend fighting between 2 different cosplayers, and I turned it into a game with dice. There are 2 players with 1 die each, and 2 teams of cosplayers. The players pick a captain cosplayer, and the captains choose amount the group of other cosplayers. Once the teams have been decided, we're ready to play.

Here's How to play:

The players pick 1 cosplayer from their teams that their captains chose for them. The cosplayers chosen will go head-to-head in a dramatic battle where they act out their moves from their character (who ever their cosplaying as). For example:
Say I picked a cosplayer in my group that was Sora from the Kingdom Hearts games, and you picked a cosplayer from your group that was Naruto. They take to the battlefield (the area of which they combat), then the players roll their dice. The player with the highest number on their die makes a hit on their opponent. Which means that, if I got a 5 on my die, and you got a 3, Sora would strike Naruto (posibly with his keyblade, but not really hit. Just a pretend hit). This keeps going until the 5th roll.
Here's an example of this:

Roll 1
You:rolled a 2 Me:rolled a 5 (Sora strikes Naruto)

Roll 2
You:rolled a 4 Me: rolled a 1 (Naruto strikes Sora)

Roll 3
You:rolled a 3 Me:rolled a 3 (Naruto and Sora block each others attacks, and it's a draw)

If a tie does come into play, the players get a bonus roll in the game. Which means they go again. If this continues, keep rolling until the winner has been decided. But the cosplayers must act out the draws, and their moves as mentioned before.

I hope this covers everything you guys need to know. I'm talking to the staff at NDK to see if I can get this going. Hopefully, this will all go smoothlly.

If you do get this going how do we volunteer as a cosplayer to participate on stage? It sounds like we just show up and hope to get picked.

Well... I need to talk with the director more about it. Or if you can give them the heads up for me a bit more, that would be great too. I just need to see if it's OK with them a bit more. I did talk to the director as I mentioned before, but I didn't get a reply back. If anybody can, spread the word and get them to talk to the director. Also get them to check out this forum for updates too. As for participating, I might make a list for people to cosplay, and two noncosplayers to be battle opponents. I think I'll let people draw a number (ether 1 or 2) out of a hat to see which cosplayers will be on what team. But if you have any ideas on what else I can do, post it here or on the NDK forums please.

This does sound really fun, but how does some one win? Is it the perosn who scored the most hits and then the team on whole that won the most fights?

Yes. Exactlly like that, but it's just for fun. No prizes involved really. Just a little fun event I wanted to do. As for non anime characters, they're welcome to join too. After all, it's for cosplayers no matter what.:)
