I heard this news blurb on another forum I frequent,so I thought of sharing it with you guys.

Yup,those crazy guys over at Nintendo are making another Pokemon game. This time,it focuses more on Giratina as the Legendary spotlight creature.

It'll follow the same formula as Diamond and Pearl.

Any opinions?

I hope they give us more treats than just a few additional Pokemon, like some new TM's or even Arceus or something along those lines.

Either way, I'm buying it- the exp. Pokegame is always the best of the three for any given generation, IMO.

I think it might run like Emerald did...being able to catch all 3 legendaries in one game (Emerald - Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza; Platinum (probable) - Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina).

D/P was a lot slower than the GBA ones, I hope they speed it up.

I think the slow-down pace was done on purpose, cause DS was introducing a lot more newer gamers to the world of Pokemon than the third generation did. I know I went back and played the GBA games post-PD, and it felt like an expansion pack more than a sequel- the gameplay was just so much more different that I'm guessing the developers felt that it wouldn't be as attractive as the basic catch (or see in PD's case) them all/ become champ formula.

I'd be really happy with a new story, despite the fact that as far as Pokemon stories go, they're not really intricate. Maybe a different order for the gyms or something, just something to spice things up.

I'm only just playing Diamond now, so I won't be picking it up for a while. I might recommend it to my brother though, as he really likes Pokemon and hasn't gotten Pearl or Diamond yet. Could be worth it to just wait it out now.

You know what would be really awesome?

If they remade Gold and Silver instead.

Instead? No.

In addition to? Yes.

Gold and Silver are good, but Diamond and Pearl are pretty awesome too. No reason not to give them their time in the sun.

I only care about whether or not they'll make new move tutors available. I play competitively pkmn online and well... I just want certain movesets easier to obtain. the scene needs more balance...although the newer version as told of certain pkmn can change things up for better or worse.

I've been playing Pokemon Diamond for a while now, trying to complete the Pokedex. I hope they will add other regions in addition to Sinnoh.

I'm curious about the whole "Volkner replaced as Eighth GL" thing. It seems the only one to keep their position is Clair. Giovanni got replaced with Green, Wallace got replaced with Juan, and now Volkner is outta there. 8 must be a dangerous position to be in.

I only played pokemon blue but I loved it. I bought it like last year. Didn't beat it but I've been seeing these new pokes, diamond, gold silver, now platinum. I'm sure it's probably the same formula but better graphics but I'll ask anyways, how does everyone like the new pokemons? Worth a buy? I plan on getting one of them, just not sure when.

IMO, I think Pokemon Diamond/Pearl are worth the buy. That was the main reason why I bought my DS, just to play it :P
I've played all past Pokemon games, I own all the GBA games (for palparking). And if you have access to wifi, you can trade with other people around the world ^^

how is diamond and pearl different? Is pokemon basically the same that was back in the day with better graphics? Because that'd be good enough for me. Or is there new cool things now?

We don't have wifi but we have a wireless router, which means I can get online so I should be able to do global trading. Do you have to know about a specific person to trade or is there a global trade market?

I didn't want to create a new thread for this, so I'll use this one:

Looks like Gamestop is giving out free Deoxys' (http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/pokedeox/default.aspx?affid=3000&WT.mc_id=061708nl)! All you have to do is go to one of their stores and tap in to their Wi-Fi! Then follow the instructions that are written on fliers that they have in the store. They are giving Deoxys' out on 6/20-6/22 and 6/27-6/29 only!

I agree, Diamond and Pearl are worth the buy, theres sooo much to do, the storyline is longer and much more challenging.
Personally, having played Blue, Red, Green (yes green), Yellow, Silver, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen and Diamond (for some reason i put Pearl off, then again it's my dummy game, I get special event pokemon and keep restarting to get copies and copies, got 5 darkrais at the Toys R us event, here comes Deoxys!)
Diamond is the ONLY ONE I've finished without hacks (I traded for a surf glitch Shaymin, sue me, and Arceus isn't out even as a glitch, so he doesn't count).
Mainly thanks to the WiFi and non cable trading! Its wonderful! I look forward to playing Platinum!

Kim - if you need help finishing, PM me I might be able to help! XD

D/P seem like the begining pokemon games, they are praised as "REVOLUTIONARY" but i just feel like until they make the "gold/silver" of the new series then i just wont enjoy it. I like diamond but after the elite four there was NOTHING to do....and dont even say battle tower or i shall burninate you..... at least in Gold & Silver you went back to Kanto and could challenge those gym leaders. GAH! that reminds me i need to rebuy one for the red gyrados lol
