Went to the mall today and picked up the new issue of "Game Informer".Sure enough,we have GHIV in the works as we speak. Here are some details:

-Clive Winston,Pandora and Eddie Knox will be rejoining the gang this time around.(Izzy Sparks,Johnny Napalm,Midori,Lars Umlaut,Judy Nails,Casey Lynch,Xavier Stone and Axel Steel have been confirmed)
-You can now mix and match clothing pieces with the characters to fit your pleasure.(Imagine using Midori's dress on Johnny Napalm or having Casey don Axel's jeans!)
-Create a character has been confirmed. You can design anything your character will be using. From tattoos to clothing, the options are endless!
-It'll be taking a Rock Band approach this time around. You'll have to get a new Drum Kit and Microphone,as the RB stuff is not compatible with the GHIV gear.
-You can also design your bandmates as well,so you can have the GH band of your dreams.
-Motion capturing has been used for everyone this time around, not just for the girls and the male singer. So,now, the lipsynching is fluent with the music.

The game is slated for a release on the Wii,XBOX360,PS3 and PS2.Check it out!

190 bucks for the set.

So no.

This game would have sold way better if they just allowed RB peripherals to be used.

That's my big issue with this too. Rock Band completely pantsed Guitar Hero last year. Sure, it didn't sell as well, but I don't think anyone can deny that it was the better game.

The issue with Guitar Hero is that it has pretty much took the same approach as another of Activision's franchises, that being Tony Hawk. Every year the game was different, and had enhancements, but nothing was essentially changed in gameplay. Well, last year, EA came out with both Skate and Rock Band, and kicked Acti right in the high hats. They made better games that revolutionized their genres.

And what does Activision do? Take the "me too" approach and copy Rock Band with World Tour, and rumor is the next Tony Hawk will have a similar makeover. This is going to be a very interesting year for music games...Skate took over for Tony Hawk last year, and I think Rock Band might take down GH this year.

Yeah...totally passing on this one.

Can't stand Activision as a publisher...don't trust Neversoft to make a game that actually isn't broken (aka, they have to remake the entire engine for this game to *work*)...

190 bucks is too much...it's a total rip-off...there's just so much bad/wrong with this already.

And the fact the rumor that's floating around about *HAVING* to buy a new guitar just to play it...yeah, DOA imo.

past guitars can be used for respective systems.the only thing that hints at needing a new guitar is a secret that cant be talking about.i THINK it might be a sort of "sixth note" like with a RB drum kit.
