I knew I knew I knew it!!!!

After a whole week of Blizzard f'n with our heads, they finally reveal what everyone was suspecting all along!

Damn with WoTLK, Starcraft 2, AND Diablo 3 coming out... Blizzard is indeed the King Midas of gaming! After the truck loads of revenue come in, I wouldn't be surprised if they joined the console market after this and actually succeed... Miyamoto watch your back! Blizzcast, Blizzard Master System, Blii (lol!)

Anyways, I'm excited to say the least!

You know, I never played or cared about the Diablo series before (I own D2, but never really played it), but after seeing that gameplay trailer, that's all about to change.

I've never cared about Diablo and this new development does nothing to change that. All that matters to me is that a major RPG is coming to the PC and that means that gamers might salivate for something I REALLY want later, like Baldur's Gate III.
So, this excites me in kind of a backhanded way.

This news makes me very, very happy. What makes me even happier is that it seems that they're not messing with the Diablo gameplay formula, which I was worried they would do. Yay!

Blizzard already has a console. It's called the PC. XD

Anyway, I'm wicked excited. This series definitely has deserved a sequel for a while. Now begins the long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long...you get the idea...wait for the game.

Hopefully, this will spur people to make more Diablo-related costumes for Blizzcon. Starting to get tired of the same... damn... WoW... costumes... every... damn... year.

The WoW costumes weren't all the same the last 2 years of blizzcon, lol. Also diablo related costume already in the planning.

Really, because most of what springs to mind for me are various Warlocks of various shapes, races, and tiers.

There goes another 5 years of my life.

I still play Diablo 2 every so often.

Whoever said this series has deserved a sequel for a long time could not be more right. I can't believe how much they waited on diablo and starcraft before making a new game. I still play starcraft sometimes and I know people who still play diablo 2 a lot. and to think that we've been waiting nearly a decade.

I hope they do a new game after starcraft 2 and diablo 3. Something completely original and not mmo.

As excited as I am for this game, I'm a little worried about the storyline and the potential chance of there being several inconsistencies. How are they going to tie in the events of D2 into D3? Sure, it's 20 years after the Worldstone was destroyed, but the destruction of the Worldstone alone can't be the cause of a giant meteor hitting the Earth at a specific area as well as the potential revival of Lord of Terror himself.

I hope they tie things up without having to create more questions

So Diablo 3...

On top of Starcraft 2...

On top of Wrath of the Lich King...

How am I suppose to play all three and still maintain a life!? I already spend oodles of hours on WoW everyday and still love watching Starcraft tourneys D:

I think you misinterpreted it a bit.

Basically, the destruction of the World Stone broke down the barriers between Sanctuary, Heaven, and Hell. Now, for 20 years everything has been peachy-keen in Sanctuary, and this just didn't sit right with Cain, who begins trying to figure out just "why" Hell hasn't invaded yet.

So one night he's studying some documents in what appears to be the old Tristram Cathedral when a meteor comes falling to earth, and smashes into the Cathedral. Near as we can tell, its actually an angel, probably Tyrael.

This "Meteor" warns that something bad is going to happen, and that the heroes of Sanctuary need to prepare themselves. Its unknown if Tyrael himself is evil, but it is alluded in one of the preview synopsis that Cain is the first one to be "claimed by evil". Perhaps giving his female understudy a chance to come into her own.

My thinking, is that the reason nobody heard anything from Sanctuary, was simply because Hell invaded Heaven directly, and a long, bloody war has been happening for those 20 years. With Heaven sufficiently beaten, and perhaps scores of angels/others corrupted, Hell now has enough influence to bring a full-on offensive to Sanctuary.

Personally, I really hope they don't decide to do a whole "Tyrael is teh evil" bit in the story, since that's been the running gag for just about every admirable character in almost all of Blizzard's stories.

Tyrael is a bit of a rogue angel anyway.

I don't think you have much to worry about. Think about what company we're referring to. By the time D3 is completed and released, you will probably have had at least a year to play WotLK and at least six months to play Starcraft 2, and that's assuming that all three are the least-delayed Blizzard releases in the history of the company.

No kidding! It's going to be amazing! I hope Tyrael doesn't go evil!! Lots of modifications going to be necessary for Krag's Tyrael costume w/Diablo III now... Finally, concept art! :)

That could be true but at the same time they always churn out quality games so I'm cool with it. Plus I feel bad for the programmers.

Oh lawd, FINALLY. I don't really care what they do with the storyline, or the characters, or whatever. I am just itching to play me some more Diablo.

Hopefully this time it won't take me seven years to finish the damn thing.

Oh, for sure. I love Blizzard to death, warts in all. I'm just a realist about their habits as a game company. :D

It's beena while while since I hit up the forums, but I'm glad I came abck before this thread dissapeared. I had honestly given up for D3! The game does look absolutly fantastic...but I am sad that my favored Necromancer has been replaced by a Witch Doctor...
