Ugh, I'm so tempted. But I've never seen one of these before, and the website isn't very informative. What's it like? Is there a lot of improv involved?

Dating games are usually pretty similar from con to con. I know CTcon hasn't done one in a few years though. The difficulty all depends on what part you play in the show and how well you know your character. For example, last year at AAC I played Yuna from FFX-2 and played the bachelorette looking for a date and asked the questions. It was a very easy job and all I did was ask the questions from my cue cards. The "contestants" jobs are to improv answers to those questions and require a lot more knowledge of the character you're preforming. Some cons add other characters as special guests too.

If you want an example I'd just say look for one on YouTube. There's tons to find.

How dose one do this dating game? D:

I mean... I'm going a Hatsune miku, so It isn't like there's an actual personalty for her character. @__@

Ahh what the heck. I'll figure something out.

AH, the dating game's back, yes!
...I would sign up as Fish-eye but I'm not sure whether it'd be more appropriate for him to be a bachelor or a bachelorette, heh. Plus, I'm too shy. >.>

I almost want to know if I can send another email back in...and ask, since Hanatarou's so feminine and girly, if I could be a bachelorette instead. XD

It's not gonna be like a skit, this one is all improvising. You show up and wing it.

In my experience attending dating games as an audience member, it's an event that usually has numerous moments of rip roaring laughter. The improv situations that ensue are classic. Never mind that it's one of the few events where someone has to be in character for awhile, which is really cool to see. :bigtu:

Anyone who participates gets mega-kudos in my book. :)

Good luck!

I can add to that, tmchiba. I was next to someone...I forgot who, that was insanely uke and shoujo. And frankly was quite scary.

I was cosplaying Mello from Death Note, and while this random uke explosion of joy was occurring, I slowly grabbed my chair and began to scoot away. Many lols.

Ah scaryness is um...scary....at AB one year, a Seifer cosplayer jumped a Squall cosplayer (all in good fun) leading to some chaos, but everything worked out well in the end. So scaryness um yeah it happens.

But scariness in a good way. XD I'm being Hanatarou in the Dating Game for CTCon, and god, I hope I have him in character enough. This is my first Dating Game at a con that exceeds 2000 people. XD

Hanatarou would probably be more appropriate for yaoi. If there's time after the girls and guys turns then there will be a yaoi and then yuri.

Xailyn

God, I wish I could be in the yaoi one. But...alas...
Friday will be the mark of exactly thirty days til my birthday. ;___;
*under 18*

If there's time after the girl asks the guys questions and visa versa then there will be a yaoi one. All of it is within one time slot and won't be 18+, all of it will be clean.

Xailyn

*hopeful eyes* I'm so used to yaoi/yuri rounds being 18+. I have a chance!!!

That is of course if you're chosen, I'll have to take a look at all of the candidates.
