that seems like its a killer trap team,^_^ actually, ANYTHING with sent/BH is a killer trap team,XD

ive found recently that sonsons magic series strings well with sentinels ground assist,i might build on that to create another team,^_^

my best character:felicia^_^(best on the east coast, that is...seriously)

sabretooth/doom/cable is what im working on right now.
i also use clockw0rk,galaga,cyke/doom/sent,felicia/doom/cyke and my low tier "fun" team is felicia/strider/dhalsim,^_^

any of you goin to Ota' this year? it would be awesome to meetup for some casuals.

A little tidbit from Comic-Con, guys... From the 'Marvel: Your Universe' panel...

"Possibility of another Marvel vs. Capcom game (a question that excited the audience)? "Would it be possible one day? Yes. And maybe sooner than you think," teased [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige]"

yeah, but unless they convert all the marvel character sprites to hugh jackman and halle berry,we still gotta wait for the movie makers rights to those characters expire before capcom can make another game,so it may be sooner, but more like another couple centuries instead of a millenium,^_^

you're saying that the studio owns the rights to the xmen characters? So marvel cant' do anything with xmen unless the studio agrees? I haven't researched so I don't know but that doesn't sound right at all.

StripperANBU

its not that the studio OWNs the characters, but theyre shall we say "renting" them for their own purposes right now,so for capcom to make another game without marvel/whatever movie company's consent would be several kinds encroachment and infringement, causing all kinds of crap for capcom.

and yes. it IS right.which is why that havent MADE a new one already.

No uh... That's a load of shit. Marvel has primary rights to those characters first and foremost before anybody.

Marvel really doesn't hold exclusivity issues with anybody either... Sega put out Hulk and Iron Man, Activision put out Ultimate Alliance and Spiderman... So they should have no problem at all hooking back up with Capcom after Tatsunoko is done with.

According to this article here, the issue isn't Fox but EA.

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Marvel-Vs-Capcom-3-A-Possibility-7919.html

I don't know the credibility of Blend Games but I recall hearing issues with MvC3 being developed way back in the day, say 2002ish and there was no mention of Fox being the hold up. So I'm willing to believe EA is the hold up.

I still have a hard time believing that Marvel would hand exclusive rights to a gold mine like X-men and it's characters to another company.

The only Marvel game EA has put out in recent years is Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects... Mostly been Activision, plus Sega, THQ (Punisher) and Take-Two (Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider)

I don't see how they would have any effect on it.

Reads Wikipedia: ""Rise of the Imperfects" was the first and only product from a Marvel-Electronic Arts partnership formed in 2004. The partnership terminated in early 2008."
I guess that could do it, while the others were movie games and thus exempt. Which doesn't explain Ultimate Alliance 1...

EA supposedly dropped the "Marvel vs." fighting game license they had, which gave us the awful Marvel Nemesis and that equally-awful looking fighter by EA Chicago that (thankfully) never was released. I'd be shocked...SHOCKED if Capcom didn't pick it right back up and get to work on it, although I wouldn't expect anything until after Capcom vs. Tatsunoko is released.

no need to be condascending,ANYONE can look at wiki to gain "insta-knowledge", and i was aware from the GETGO that marvel owns the rights first, any moron can see that, what im saying is that they had a LICENSING AGREEMENT with the movie makers, and it wont ANYTIME soon after tatsunoko, cuz theyre still making another wolverine movie, granted he doesnt have to be in mvc3,but chances are they'll want to put him in. point blank is that because marvel is tied up so much right now with movies and all kinds of other PR crap, they wont be able to sit down and work on mvc3 with the folks at capcom until im in my mid 20s at the least. yo do you even play?
are you going to otakon? moneymatch me,XD.

*edit* albeit i could be partially wrong, they might revamp the marvel characters, which might not be a goot chance to take with the core fanbase,=/ anywho, its gonna be at LEAST another four or five years im willing to bet.

Provide some sources, buddy, because I guarantee there is no licensing agreement with Fox that prohibits Marvel from letting other companies use their properties.

Case in point: Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Has X-Men characters. The game shouldn't exist going by your words.

And no, I don't 'play' in your sense of the word. I enjoy the game casually. I also find competing for money to be on the ridiculous side.

Generally, movie and videogame rights are sold differently.

Fox currently owns the rights to X-Men, movie-wise. So the movie-version of Wolverine would not be able to be featured in a videogame unless they gave consent. However, Marvel has not sold the rights to the "comic" version, so a wolverine based off of the comic-character version is a-ok.

Its the whole reason why there were Spider-Man movie games (based on the movies,) and Spider-Man game games (Web of Shadows, I believe it was called,) was based on a marvel single-license, not a license from Sony.

Characters from the newest marvel movies (like Iron Man) are unaffacted by this, since Marvel owns the rights to the movie as well as the game.

XD,never been to a tourney then i guess, and playing for money IS fun,lol you should try it sometime. look, im not gonna sit here and debate with you in MY thread, were supposed to be talking about the game itself anyways.and MUA doesnt have the MOVIE versions of the characters,so thats why they have them, anyone would know that.

ah,i see. thank you for the information:bigtu:

back to the initial topic, who here plays SERIOUSLY,(meaning for blood and not "fun")? im trying to get a serious discussion going
(and for those of you that answer yes, playing MSP doesnt mean you play seriously, )

wow everyone got all worked up.

Personally i'm a projectile fan.
Favorite team for the story mode = Iron Man, Cable, Gambit
favorite PVP = Gambit, Captain America, Ryu

on another note, i have been trying to find a copy just for ps2 but the prices are outrageous, guess i'll have to stick with dreamcast.

just stick with the dreamcast version, the ps2 version is really glitchy and its not arcade perfect, plus its retarded expensive,=/

I didn't know it was glitchy. I've never experienced any glitches since I've had it for the PS2. I will agree that the Dreamcast is the way to go with it. The sound quality is much better on the Dreamcast. I'm not sure about the Xbox version though. It's probably like the PS2 version only faster at loading and saving.

No I think he's right about the glitching. I never played the dreamcast version and it's been years since I played the PS2 but I remember my friends saying things weren't running quite right on it. I don't think the glitches are extreme like you fall through the floor but things like prioritizing attacks. Cancels. I never knew MVC that well but for a regular I'm sure it ruins the game. Fighting games should be arcade perfect ports, otherwise what's the point, you can't take those skills to the arcade.

it DOES ruin the game, i assure you,lol and people that learn how to play on ps2 think certain things are possible, and then go to an arcade and complain cuz it doesnt work.when i said glitchy, i didnt mean so literally, but for example.

amongst players of average skill and up, its known that you can throw the opponent into the corner with tronne bonne, intercept their landing with light kick and link into her lunchrush super directly after.

in the ps2 version?after the first super, you can dashforward, light kick, and do the same super,AGAIN,>_< and again and again until you run outta bars, lol. NOT possible in the original arcade version.
and similar things of this nature, different cancels, links, move properties and priorities, and such.

but, i will say this....it IS fun when youre drunk,XD

I ran Seattle's (which basically became the Northwest's) MvC2 tournament scene for about a year before Preppy kindly took over for Lanwerks and beyond. Playing killas like Row, Rat, Kuan, Trinh and JMar made me pretty decent at the game. Blackheart / Cable / Doom became my anti-Magneto team of choice. Juggernaut / Cable / Blackheart is my current blink and you're dead, for fun team. Gameworks Seattle (if the machine works right) and Preppy's gatherings are the only times I play anymore though :(

^_^ NICE. i got to chat with preppy for a bit at final round XI in atlanta, i think hes still got my matches on his site, all TWO of them, lol im not too great, but well just say i make a good punchingbag for top players,XD. i played row once. and it was depressing, lolz. i mainly roll with the eastcoast players, ericV,justin, skisonic, victor, and some others, ive been practicing at home lately though, my arcade closed and i bought the marvel cabinet off of them,^_^. if you wanna see a couple of my matches, (though i warn you, it was a glitchy stick,i have a wierd team, and i lost my second match to flashmetroid, who went on the grand finals with justinwong, lol), then go to zachd.com and search "abishai", ^_^ your teams sound killer, maybe well get to play someday,^_^.
