So I baught a cheongsam dress ages ago and despite a rip on the side etc. I wondered that would It work for a chun li cosplay.

It would be recognisable... but it depends on if you're just doing this costume for fun, or want it to be completely accurate. :thumbsup:

Chun Li's sleeves are puffy, and there wouldn't be enough fabric you could harvest off the front of that dress (since you'll need most of the length at the back) to make them. So yeah, it's not a foundation for a hardcore costume. (That being said, you could always do an "evening gown version" or similiar? Like, your own take on the character design?)

But, I'd say go for it, if you're just out to have fun and there's nothing else you have planned for the dress! :)

Chun-Li actually has a dress in the Alpha II-V anime series, different colors, but she does wear those kinds of dresses in the anime series.

It can work, like he said, she does wear dresses like that in the anime.
If your trying to go for the in game look, the selves need changing and everything..which means much work ahead. I know this is old, I just came across it!
