Ok, I've been looking for an afforidable pattern for Alucard's duster from Hellsing for a couple days now. I would like to have it ASAP so that I can hopefully have it finished by Izumi con. I'm going to check out Joann's tomorrow for fabric and such for another costume and have planned to check out patterns there. I understand that I'm probably going to have to twink it a bit but I'm in a desperate bind to find it fast. Can anyone out there give me a little help?

I think this one has promise although it needs to be lengthened & tweaked for fit, but it does have a shoulder caplet in one view. Unfortunately Simplicity isn't on sale this week at JoAnns. McCalls for $1.99 is their next sale coming up on 8/8 - 8/9. Search the book and perhaps they'll have a similar one? :P
IF you have the time and a Hancocks, however, you may be in luck.
At Hancock Fabrics:
Thursday, August 7 - Sunday, August 10: Simplicity 5 for $5 (limit 10)
Thursday, August 14 - Sunday August 17: Butterick 99 cents (limit 10)
Dunno what deadline date you have, but good luck. ;)

I use the matrix coat by Simplicity and tweak things from there (but yes something with collar pieces does make it easier.)

Krystel, if you're still looking for the pattern, PM me. I have an extra copy of the Simplicity pattern that we can talk about. :)

You were all a great help! I finished the coat on Saturday. I hope to have the whole costume done by Izumicon. :)
