Ok, so I'm a total late comer to this whole anime, manga world, but I find myself absolutely hooked on 3x3 Eyes. I'd love to get a complete manga set and I don't care if it's in Japanese and I'd have to read English translations on the side. I know there were some English versions put out, but I haven't found any good resources for that either. Any help on where I should start or look for that matter? Thanks!
Well, the Japanese manga is well over 30 volumes, and you would either have to go to a Japanese bookstore and buy ALL of them [hoping they're all in stock], or order them online, which means HUGE shipping prices from Japan. The English manga is up to volume... 7, methinks. They've been really pushing the series recently, and getting several volumes out.
As an avid 3x3 Eyes fan myself [I'm cosplaying Pai at Otakon and BAAF this year], I will give you this warning- I don't think there are any English translations of ALL of the manga on the net. It's not a very popular series, sadly.

Yeah I found a bookstore here in MA that seems to have a lot of the Japanese 3x3 Eyes manga...the Sasuga Bookstore. I'm gonna take a ride up there tomorrow to see what they have in stock. I just loved the 3x3 Eyes Pioneer anime and could watch it over and over...what an ending. I just sooo want to know how it all continues...hehehe =) My friend is gonna be Yakumo(sp?) at Otokan this year. My first con will probably be the next Anime Boston and I'm still working on a kick-arse Caska costume from Berserk.
Your friend will be Yakumo?! Dude, what's his e-mail? XD I want To get a picture with him. :3 [you can just PM is to me]

There are 40 volumes total. Really thick volumes, too. It takes up nearly an entire bookshelf in my house, between fanbooks and novels and those massive Young Magazine tankoubans. XD I cried and cried when it ended, but at least I can stop moving my shelves around to accomodate it!
I haven't picked up any of the new English volumes, but the old Dark Horse ones were pretty impressive considering... they even redrew Yakumo's "Wu" symbol in every panel so it was facing the proper direction when they flipped it. That's patience. o_o I've seen the new volumes in Barnes & Noble, so I imagine its available in many bookstores' manga sections.
I have had wonderful experiences with Amazon Japan, http://www.amazon.co.jp, their service is great and their selection is wonderful. But shipping those heavy books will never be cheap, I'm afraid... Sasuga is wonderful about special orders, even if it takes them a while to get the items to you.
This site (http://www.geocities.com/mr_kaiyanwang/trans.html) offers translations & summaries of the later volumes (the Sazan Eyes Digest hasn't been updated in years, last time I checked), plus he's a Haan and Yohko fan so I have to give him love for that alone. ;)
