I know there are a few of these asking for a pattern or a link for a site to do it but I haven't had much luck with finding the Vogue pattern and I don't have time to buy online. Also for the sites, the ones I've found are very unclear in certain areas.
Does anyone have a site that says how to make Hakama pants?
I need to make two for a friend and myself as Soi Fong and Yoruichi.

Thank you guys in advance :):bigtu:

The first one will give you the necessary measurements. the second will give you a basic idea of all the pieces. (the patterning in the first is kind of difficult to understand).

Folkwear.com sells traditional patterns. You can also find hakama at any martial arts supply store. Look for aikido or kendo uniforms.

It helps to do a little research on crotch gussets, which was the most confusing part for me in that first link.

The hakama I have made (from the Round Earth instructions) and bought from martial arts stores do not have gussets in them. I'm not sure how traditional or accurate that is; if your hakama are full enough you shouldn't need one.

Hakama are also one of the things I would much prefer to buy than make, having done both. They are time-consuming and unwieldy to make, and easy to buy in the standard colors (white, black, navy), and don't cost much in a cotton-poly blend.

I agree with the crotch thing x-x Honestly, there are no martial arts place near my house and I don't have time to buy them online (and I don't want all this black fabric to go to waste)

Thank you guys for your help so far! It's done wonders!!
