It shows that they don't care what people think of them as long as they have fun...or they lost a bet and want to make a statement. @_@

It shows that they have a lot of courage (and kahones)
I always felt that people who crossplay are amazing. They decide to costume as someone that isn't their gender and just go at it, all pistons firing! That's why I'm going to try it when my Tamaki costume is done.
Yay for crossplay!

I like the fact that they're comfortable enough with themselves to do it and not care about what others may think of them, it shows they have confidence in themselves.

Also...If women can do it, why can't men? =P

It shows that there are indeed REAL Envys in this cruel world...and that the men crossplaying them are very brave and self-aware. =D Also, cross-playing men give women a chance to shout, "Work it!!" at someone other than their fellow women, who get that line all the time. :P So yes, they can be quite attractive indeed. ^^

If I see a serious male crossplayer I usually go up to congradulate them personally on being awesome in general XD. I think I creeped out a Bridget cosplayer that way buuut... Hey for a guy to crossplay a character he loves despite them being a girl requires alot of courage. I say "go for it XD"

If I see a female crossplayer... I donno? I just react normally? XD There tends to be as much female crossplayers as non crossplayers these days. I don't know any famous crossplayers except from youtube and dev art but they're famous from actions and pictures not from awesome crossplays so I don't think it really matters

A friend of mine told me at Anime Expo this year that a fair amount of females, especially in a fandom such as crossplay, are interested in males who are into crossplay seriously...

(As in, not just throwing on a Haruno Sakura costume with hairy legs and beard stubble, but taking time to show the love and devotion a character deserves.)

For the simple notion that deep down inside, all girls growing up wish they had a little brother the could force into dressing up like a Disney Princess and engage in a tea party with.

Something I agree with as it was my first girlfriend who got me wearing skirts.

Guys that seriously crossplay are Barbie dolls for grown up girls. I get much more attention and interaction from women as a female character than I ever did as a guy. Even better is when they give me stuff cause they know I'll wear it or cause it will fit me really well.

I'm just worried they are going to steal my legs.

Like Mutie said, the same thing happened to me. I was your stereotypical nerd in school. I even LOOKED like Squints from The Sandlot.

Didn't even get any attention when I started a band.

But the day I went and played at the Santa Hates Us All show last year literally dressed like EGL Mana, it was an explosion of tears and tatas.

Its surprising that girls like a guy who crossplay's, i think it would be fun, but I'm way to shy to seriously consider it, not that i could pull it off anyway, i think my friends and family would find it a bit weird.

I used to work in a nightclub that featured female impersonators' some of them were prettier than most women.I think its great when a guy gos all out and pulls it off.

I think crossplayers, especially male ones, are great! At least, when they try. The males definitely have a lot of guts to do so... even though such things are becoming more widely accepted there are still a lot of jerks out there... and I respect them and will tend to purr on them because of it :3 ~ tee hee

No offence to anyone (now you know im about to offend someone!) but i cannot understand why a girl would find a guy dressed up as a girl attractive. I generally just feel ill when i see these people. I also cannot understand why a girl would strap down her breasts, desexualise herself and dress up as a boy. Its like girls having short hair or boys having long hair, it just makes no sense to me why someone would want to do that to themselves.

People shouldn't be bound to their own gender and restrict themselves to cosplaying just their gender. As long as you really want to do it, and you put effort into it, females can make convincing males and males can make amazingly convincing women.

There was a guy crossplaying as a member of Lucky Star at my home convention and it took me hours of seeing him constantly and talking to him before I realized he wasn't a girl. It still stuns me that I could remain oblivious that long.

But anyway, I don't see why you can't admire someone crossplaying or do it yourself. It took me awhile to get up the courage to crossplay the first time and all the compliments I got really helped me become more confident, so whenever I see a crossplayer(male or female)that looks really cool I can't help but say hi and compliment them.

As far as guys who crossplay - I think it takes guts to express yourself in crossplay. That being said, if you are a male crossplayer either do it well or do it as an onvious joke! The middle ground is just weird; either go all out and be totally convincing, or do it as if you lost a bet. Do not half-ass crossplay!

I don't think there's anything wrong with girls who crossplay. Let's face it, there are TONS of male anime and game characters that look like girls. Plus, some girls feel more comfortable with the generally more modest male costumes.

As far as being attracted to male crossplayers - no. I likes me some manly men ^_^ but I completely respect crossplay as a form of self-expression.

Well, I can at least tell you why a girl would dress up like a boy: Becuase she likes the character.

I'm a pretty feminine looking girl, for the most part, but I wouldn't mind giving crossplay a try. I don't cosplay because I'm trying to pick up guys, I do it because it's something I enjoy and it keeps me busy. So I don't mind if dressing like a boy would "desexualize" myself. Besides, there are many male characters in anime and manga that have such delicate features that it can actually be a lot easier for women to cosplay them.

As far as men cosplaying female characters...well, if they do it well, more props to them. I personally don't find it attractive, as I prefer men over women, but I can admire someone that has the guts to put the effort into dressing as a woman. I don't necessarily understand why some girls find it hot when a guy crossplays, but I guess I will leave that to personal preferences.
