So, I'm planning on making a steampunk version of Suzaku from Code Geass for Metrocon and I was thinking it'd be even better to get a whole group going. I already have someone who's interested in doing either Lelouch or Zero (not sure which he's going for...probably Zero), so would anyone else be interested?

Current Characters
Suzaku - JellybeanQueen
Zero - KeyOfTwilight

Oh that's an awesome idea! I might be interested. Although I'm not sure what to do for the design...would this be to actually enter the contest?

If Metrocon allows original takes on characters (I know MegaCon does, but this is my first Metrocon, so I'm not sure), and everyone in the group wants to, then I was thinking of entering the contest.

Also, I've started designing stuff for characters other than Suzaku, and I should have them uploaded to deviantART soon if people want to see.

I think metro does, don't quote me though, I will ask someone who knows and works at the con for confirmation. Yes, I'll probably be doing zero, lelouch doesn't really have too many costumes that you can steam-punkify, unless I did the emperor, but who knows.

If you already had some designs...that would be awesome, because I'm not quite sure where I'd start heh. ^_^

Being on stage makes me nervous, but if everyone else really wanted to do it, I could manage. I'm really excited about this idea!

Well perhaps we should list the characters that have been taken.

Suzaku
Zero

So that would leave most of the cast left, lol. We could technically even have a regular lelouch if needed. What I'd love to see is a steam punk Lloyd, that would be fecking brilliant.

Alrighty, I'll sketch out a few more characters (omfg, steampunk Lloyd...must draw) and get everything uploaded. Lelouch is proving to be a bit of a challenge, but I think I've got a design that, if nothing else, is something we could work with.

I have a LOT of ideas for steampunk lelouch/zero. I'm thinking something of a portable keyboard/druid system, maybe made from a chess board and old type writers, possibly attached at his belt? The helmet will be fun, I have tons of ideas for that, I know we discussed some of them at Megacon.

I love CC and Euphemia so I wouldn't mind being either of them. I also like Kallen so she would be fine too...I guess it depends on the costume and who ends up being needed.

Whichever you want, I guess ^^ We don't have any room to say what you can or can't do, lol, so I guess choose one, and we'll add a name and character to our list ^^

Okay, I should have the designs I've sketched up all uploaded and stuff by tomorrow. So far I've got basic costumes for Lelouch, Suzaku, Euphemia, C.C., and Lloyd sketched up, and Kallen and Nunnally are in-progress, as well as some accessory/gadget sketchs and ideas (Jeremiah's mask, for example).

Dang you're fast. I just have general ideas so far on my end, lol.

There is usually a themed "Original Design" award that changes every year. They plan to post all the costume information next week or so. ^__^

Steampunk characters are encouraged at the Masquerade!!! It is Steampunk themed! I am even making a Steampunk Tohru!

I am not sure what Original Design award will pop up this year, but they should post it soon!

There's a new contest this year that's actually steam punk themed. I can't give out too many detail but expect a full announcement within a week or so. Also steam punk costumes are allowed in the Carnival.

Sorry for the hold up on designs, they'll probably be up by tomorrow or Saturday. Family's in town for the week, so I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.^^;; A mostly internetless chicken.

I would love to do a steampunk C.C. if I can come up with an adequate design or get inspired by someon else's design ;D

Okay, I finally have some potential designs scanned and uploaded to my deviantART gallery. I'll update the first post with those. And while I'm doing that here are some thoughts I had that I didn't get to draw yet.

Zero's mask
For this I was thinking a black fencing mask could work, because while you can see out of a fencing mask well, it's pretty much impossible to see someone's face while they wear one. With some steampunk-ish Code Geass embellishments. It wouldn't have to be an actual fencing mask, but that could be the general idea.

Kallen's outfit
I'm currently doing some more research on this, but I was thinking of mixing Japanese and European styles for her costume. I just need to do some more research on Japanese clothes from the early 1900's, mid-late 1800's to see if that would even work.^^;;

Ah! What an amazing idea! :D
I would love to join up with this. As it stands, I'm doing a one-off C.C. cosplay from an image I found online. If Shich doesn't end up doing C.C. I would really like to do her! I've been playing around with a Steampunk design that would work perfectly for her ^_^

How my zero turns out in the end is gonna seem to depend on how much cash I can throw together for it, lol. I'm glad to see a lot of people responding to it though, this will be a very cool group.

Haha, yeah, I'm having to tweak my Suzaku so I have money to hopefully go to Otakon. And remake the Lancelot uniform. *le sigh* But it does make me happy to see that this idea is actually going somewhere.^^

Mhmm. On a good note, a lot of steampunk can be accomplished by modifying already made items. We just had a goodwill open up right near me, I'm gonna look into stuff there, just in case I find something good.

Whoo, bump time. So, who all is still interested in this? I'll start compiling a list of characters on the first post, so hopefully this will be a little more organized.^^''
