Captain Knuckles From Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack

I have recently lost 50 pounds thanks to lapband,yay~
so I've decided to cosplay my favorite cartoon right now

I already have the jacket,I just need to attach some gold buttons here and there,got the boots,making the hat,got the make up,looking for the shirt(i'll end up making it(T~T))

BUT I am having second thoughts on how to go about making wooden hands and a wooden sitting muscle for him

For his sitting muscle i was just gunna take a plastic butt and paint it so it looks wooden
The hands I'd like to make realistic,almost like wooden gloves,i'd like to keep my palms open and covered by a wood colored glove to make things easier. I found a nice vincent valentine claw that looks like i could use the same mechanics. Bui I do plan on trying to carve wooden fingers and such, I cant find mannequin hands to carve out though =_=

I've got myself a flapjack for OniCon09 this Holloween
but i'd like to make mine pretty awesome if i can >_<;
so please helps meh!

Here are da pictures:

They have hand models for drawing with joints and such, you could use those, make the jacket long enough to cover your real hands, and just have it poking out? Or make a Vincent claw out of another material and paint it to look like wood? Maybe make it out of wood itself? I'm sure there's a tutorial for a Vincent claw on this site if you search the forums.

Skip the wood, it will just cause you major headaches and splinters. I think you've got the right idea with the vincent hands, since you could still move (a limitation you'd have with wood) and you could just paint whatever material you use to look like wood.

Also, isn't his sitting muscle really just like a plank of wood on a belt? it isn't actually shaped like a butt. Plus under the coat you shouldn't be able to see it since his coat goes down to mid thigh/knee.

cool, i think i might go for the vincent claw idea n paint it wood color but i might have the back of my hand still wood
i think i have a few art hands around here i could carve out,worth a try i have plenty of time anyhow

i might not make the sitting muscle,be unneeded work, I'm gunna have to make his jacket longer then along with his shirt, the boots work great but i'll have to get some gel soles or sumthing =_= they're not the most comfortable thing in the world

i was in a home depo near the wood and found veneer real wood edgeing by band-it for knuckles hands.

gunna use them on vincent style claws,they wont be as long fingered though,i'll post progress pics later on.
