I'm having a hard time figuring out how to approach the gloves for my Julia Chang cosplay.

What kind of glove would be a good base?

I bought a cheap pair of gloves at a sport store, but they were black and painting them didn't turn out right. Any ideas?

There's a Vogue pattern (http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V8608.htm?search=gloves&page=1), I think B would work, if you take out the finger tips and add the darker bands around it.

OH, lol I forgot to mention that I am retarded when it comes to sewing, so preferably someway to do this without thread and needle please.

Buy a cheap pair of proper fitting leather/pleather gloves and simply cut off the fingers.

I actually just bought a pair of white cotton gloves for $1, gonna stain them with coffee, cut the fingers, use a lil fray check. I have some model magic I can use to make the straps, we'll see how this all works out u_u I don't really have a lot of money for this project (currently jobless and desperate to cosplay,) but thanks for your help!
