Or something. Im not quite sure what they are called, that item on his chest. But anyways. There are a total of 3 of us wanting to be Sanzo Priest cosplayers (Kami, Ukoku, Genjo). What would be the best material used for their chestplates, and how would I do so? Honestly, We have no clue.

As for their crowns, we were thinking of a plastic fabric. But we're not so sure. What kind of material would be used for that, and how would we put it together.

We really need help, yo. D: Please?

I believe that in real life, those chestplates are made of slats of bamboo layered over each other. You could use pieces of craft foam and paint them over using the craft foam armor technique.

As for the crown, I would use paperboard or something similar.

Yes, the rakusu is a chestplate made of lapped bamboo slats. I have seen some people try to use real bamboo, but there is also craft foam, styrene plastic, and similar methods. Whatever you use, make sure it's 1) tougher than mere cardboard or paper, because it will take a lot of wear and tear beating against your chest, and 2) can be painted as much as you want in order to look sorta bamboo-like.
