I was wondering if anyone has any idea of how i should go about making the Kisou shirt for a Toshiya cosplay. @_@; :

Unless, of course, you don't think it would be to awful of me to just go as him with the coat closed? x_x;;; :

Cool, I was considering this for a future cosplay too ^^

Bah, whether you go with or without the shirt is totally up to you, and I don't think it really matters since the coat is what most people will recognize.

Um, the shirt seems pretty straight-foward. Just cut out fabric in that basic shape and sew it together. Then add all those detail-y things on it. I don't see any sort of opening from those pics but you couls just stick a zipper in the back.

What's your skill level btw? I mean, are you able to sew and have access to a sewing machine or no?

Hmm, when you say it like that, I might just make the shirt so i can wear it on an every-day basis. ha ha... but yes, it's not so dreadfully intimidating now.
My skill level is probably not super, but i do have a sewing machine, and I have done two other cosplays before... Plus, I can always get my mom and sister to help. :thumbsup:

oh, I was also wondering what your opinon is on the kind of fabric it is. I'm thinking pleather or vinyl, but I haven't asked anyone else.

I think it's like this snake skinish pvc stuff. I haven't thought about that costume yet, *is a toshiya cosplayer*, so i haven't really done any research for this costume yet ^^;

The hardest part about cosplaying as toshiya is takign some of the designs and making them female ^^;

Unless you have experince drafting patterns I would suggest getting a pattern for corset type top and altering it to look like his. It might sound difficult but is is quite easy to do. if you need any help feel free to Pm me okies?

^_^ I'd go with what Minakolabelle suggested, getting a bodice pattern and modifying it. Keep in mind that Totchi is a guy though so, if possible, try to make the pattern a little more straight than curvy. It shouldn't be too hard for you since you already made two costumes before. Just figure out how flat you're going to need to make that chest area (if you happen to bind :3)

Er..I wouldn't say vinly since it's kinda shiny and looks thiner than what's in that picture. I'd say it's pleathery :D

Diddo, if you need any help ^^

ee! Thank you so much for the tips! I talked to my sister about it and we both thought up the corset idea, too. :D (she's cosplaying as Kisou Die) So I'll probably end up going with that. I actually don't think I'll have to worry too much about binding seeing as.. well, it's easier for me to cosplay as guys than girls. (if you get what I mean, ha ha ha)
in any case, I'll pm you guys if I need any more help, and thank you!
