View Full Version : Zelda Ears

Okay, I have another question for Legend of Zelda cosplayers... Where do find good Zelda ears? I live in a very rural community and the only place nearby that even sells fabric is a Wal-Mart (heh, just my luck), so I obviously can't find pointly little elven-type ears anywhere around here. If anyone can send me a link to an online site or give me any suggestions, I'd be most grateful. Btw, does anyone do Zelda cosplay without the pointy ears, or is that a big faux pas?

good question. Apparently the only way to do it is by making them yourself.. something I consider far too messy. Hrrmm :(

Ooh, thanks, Adella! Those are really cute little elf ears! ^-^ (By the way, everyone who told me making Zelda costumes is rough was so right... About halfway through Zelda's, I'm starting to understand...)

eh my mom understood that months ago.. that's why she hasn't helped me lately lol

I've been having mine being put off too. They need quite a bit of time to do yourself.

hehe, aeris said that already.....

this is what basically all cosplayers use. I remember asking pikmin and she said something about doing this and that but never gave the specifics:

Hope this helps (http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Article/Ears.htm)

Just remember not to make the things bigger then your head o_O they're really not supposed to be THAT long (albeit a lot of fanart and such seems to knock it incredibly out of preportion)

Ohmi or Baby Snow Leopard should write a tutorial on how to make them. ^_^ They showed Pikmin Link how to make hers, and they're going to make me a pair because I'm lazy and want my ears to match theirs lol. It'd be great because it seems to be a recurring topic and would probably help a lot of people.

hehe maybe I can beg them to make my ears o_o I'm lazy :)

ohhh oops..I did'nt see that, silly meeeeee

Well, in a major pinch, one could make the ears out of crayola modeling clay. Apparently it stays on quite nicely with spirt glue and is really light weight as well.

Someone I know used them to make antennea and it worked nicely.

Here's the place that I'll be going to when I make an elf outfit in the near future.

Just thought I would toss this out for everyone.

These are elf ears... http://www.animalx.com/citadel/faerieparts.htm I don't think they are long enough to be Hylian ears but they might work.. (^.^'''

For my Link I'm using Woochie's "Large Space Ear Tips". If you position them right on your ears, they look pretty damn good. I think anything really large (like the Hylian ears in the illustrations) would look rather ridiculous in real life. The tips you can find at any local costume shop... even the temporary Halloween ones. They run about $10 a pair, then about $3 for a Spirit Gum kit... it includes the adhesive, remover, and an applicator brush.

Good luck! And a big YAY for more Zelda cosplayers!

Yah, a lot of people told me to go with woochie. I found some other site that had pretty good looking ears (like youkai ears in Inuyasha) but I don't have the link with me right now. It's on my other computer.
