Anyone else like Happy Mania? I've only read the first volume so far, and I thought it was pretty funny. One complaint I've heard a lot of people have about the series is that Shigeta (the main character) is rather annoying. It's true that she's over the top, but she's basically supposed to be the personification of every mistake that can be made in a relationship. What do you guys think?

I'm on volume 7 now... I don't think I'd buy the series myself (my roomate has all of the books) but it's different. I think in a lot of ways it's much more true to life, especially Japanese life, then most other manga. It also mocks a lot of the problematic mentalities people have when getting into relationships.
The story is better than the art, I think.

i dont like how the art looks, it looks as though it took minutes to draw....

i bought the first 3, and I had no idea what it was going to be about. . .I just know that they asked for my ID for the manga and I didn't know why I needed my ID. . but then when I read them at home. Sadly I didn't enjoy it. The main character seemed too desperate for men, her eyes are always popped out and I don't really like the art and I guess I am not too into casual and loose sex, so I didn't enjoy it, and gave it to my friend. :: shrugs ::

I agree with a lot of what you said, but the thing is... the way those girls act is a significant cultural problem in Japan right now, and this manga is one of the first to cover it. I respect that.

hmm understandable in that case.
