View Full Version : What animes can you just watch over and over?

10-07-2002, 08:27 PM
As the title says, how many times have you watched some series/movies through?

Gravitation: I'm keeping a running tally- I'm up to 28, and I plan to show the series to anime club. [That's really sad, considering that there are 13 eps and 2 OAVs, and I was introduced to it in late July]

Record of Lodoss War- Cronicles of the Heroic Knight: I've watched all of those eps ungodly amounts of times. o.O

3x3 Eyes: I've seen the "Immortals" tape about 3 times; the "Ledgend of the Divine Demon " tape around... er... 20 times.

Escaflowne: I lost count. O.o

10-07-2002, 08:33 PM
Fushigi Yuugi (+OVAS): one gazillion times ^-^

Saber Marionette J: Dun remember @_@

and there are others..too many ta list ^^

I know I've seen every one of Marmalade Boy's 76 episodes at least 10 or 11 times. That's rather pitiful, considering that most fans don't even like it the first time around, heh.

I've watched Arslan Senki parts 1-4 at least a dozen times... I've lost count. >_< But I only watched OVA 5 and 6 (Age of Heroes) once. *shakes head in disgust* Once was enough.

I think I've seen Record of Lodoss War OVA 6 or 7 times. And my Kenshin DVD's have been played so many times, they're starting to wear out. That's when you know you need to splurge and get some new anime... ^_^

10-07-2002, 11:10 PM
Utena and Fushigi Yuugi are like comfort food to me, better than easy mac anyday. When I want to relax, I choose one of those. Or the Escaflowne movie, it's very relaxing, the music calms me down.

10-07-2002, 11:39 PM
El-Hazard: The Magnificent World.
It's happy and fun and exciting. I've seen the entire series about five times, and I enjoy it every time. Sure, some episodes are better than others, but it just makes me happy. Especially the introductory episodes where Alielle shows up! ^_^

10-07-2002, 11:58 PM
Evangelion, slayers, gundam wing, utena and utena movie, bloodlust, el hazard: the magnificent world, and cowboy bebop.
thats all i can think of at the moment. O.o *brain melts*

10-08-2002, 01:25 AM

10-08-2002, 07:07 AM
Utena the movie is definitely one I watch over and over again ^^..never get tired of the latin carwash of doom o.o;

Spriggan..gotta love the frenchie.
Saiyuki.. I have the script implanted in my head.
And Weiss <including crashers ran>..whenever I had a bad dream I used to turn it on and feel better ^^;.

10-08-2002, 07:29 AM
I dunno how many times, but here's my list of stuff I've watched multiple times.

GunSmith Cats
Sailor Moon
Ebichu the Housekeeping Hamster
Ranma 1/2

10-08-2002, 07:40 AM
> I've watched Arslan Senki parts 1-4 at least a dozen times... I've lost count. >_< But I only watched OVA 5 and 6 (Age of Heroes) once. *shakes head in disgust* Once was enough.

That sums up my opinion perfectly. I used to be able to quote Arslan Senki in my sleep... LOL

I'll only count things I will watch in its entirety over and over again, which means more than 5 or 6 times, otherwise the list will be too long (I have an incredible tolerance for re-watching, re-reading things, I think I watched Star Wars more than 60 times, and that's not even the most watched movie in my collection.)...

Gundam Wing
Gundam 8th MS team
Arslan Senki (as noted already)
Perfect Blue

are the ones I have watched the most in their entirety.

Although Sailor Moon is pretty high up, but only for the first (in English) and last (in Japanese) seasons, which are my favorite.

Generally, I can (and have!) watched everything by Gainax over and over. Evangelion, KareKano, Ebichu, Wings of Honneamise, and Gunbuster.

Also, I can watch the Miyazaki movies I've seen over and over- Totoro, Mononoke, and Spirited Away.

I watched Fist of the North Star about a zillion times back in the day. ^^; For some reason, I watch Gundam 0083 all the time too and I never get tired of any Bebop episode.

Oh... and... I can't forget... GOLDEN BOY!!!! Holy crap, how many times have I watched that?

I'll probably think of more later!

Ranma Saotome
10-08-2002, 11:51 AM
Ranma 1/2. When peeps are watching, I usually walk by and quote the scene word for word and usually end up getting hit in the back of the skull. :p

> Oh... and... I can't forget... GOLDEN BOY!!!! Holy crap, how many times have I watched that?

10-08-2002, 01:18 PM
Slayers, Fushigi Yuugi, Childs Toy, InuYasha, Hana Yori Dango, Kenshin, CCS, MKR and Himechan no Ribbon are the titles that I usually rewatch when I am in the mood but don't want to start something new.

10-08-2002, 01:26 PM
Escaflowne, the good parts of Rurouni Kenshin (you know what I mean) and the Kenshin OVAs, Irresponsible Captain Tylor (I don't care. It's funny.), Oniisama E.

10-08-2002, 01:30 PM
Inu Yasha the movie : 2...going onto 3.
Gravitation : 11 times
Rurouni Kenshin the last OVA: 3 times
Endless Waltz : 5 times
Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust - 7 times.

Gingerbread Man
10-08-2002, 01:31 PM
I can watch Cowboy Bebop, flame of recca, and Trigun forever and still enjoy it. But in the case of Evangelion I'd watch it untill it made sense....so I guess I can watch that one forever too.

Demented Otaku
10-08-2002, 01:34 PM
Akira, Cowboy Bebop, EVA, Char's Counterattack, Z-Gundam, pretty much any other Gundam series except GW ( the unoriginality kills me. )

10-08-2002, 02:20 PM
Hmm... Sailormoon R Movie, Fruits Basket, .. ^^:: I don't own much anime so..

YESH!!! YESH YESH YESH!!!! CHIBIS! ::cackles like mad:: Pow pow PARN! My favorite of those are when they're try "The first annual 'Try-To-Make-The-Solomn-Guy-Named-Orson-Who's-Forgotten-How-To-Laugh-Laugh Contest'. [Mama's going out to try and find you a dad!]

My other favorite is with Pirotesse trying to help Ashram steal Neese's cookies. "Tiny friggin' spirites of invisibility, let your form become mine.. boo boo de doo!" XD "Lord Ashram! Your ass!" "What about my ass?? EEP! You didn't see anything, did you? Ahh... she saw my hiney!!"

Let's see ...

I've watched Evangelion, Escaflowne and Utena (series and movies) multiple times. X/1999 (TV) I've watched twice, and will do so again when the DVDS are released. God, is that show beautiful. And NOIR! Oh my, how could I forget NOIR? I'm ~currently~ watching that again.

Can't count how many times I've enjoyed FLCL.

Ghost in the Shell (Movie) is incredible. So is the TV show, but there's not enough available to see! <Dries up and dies>

The Wings of Honneamise ... over and over and over ... And Project A-Ko! There's the list. Yep!

Di Gi Charat: lost count after 7.
Cowboy Bebop: um...i don't know...lost count.
Love Hina: 5

Di Gi charat is just so cute, I find when I'm not having great day watching Di Gi charat helps my mood.
Cowboy Bebop, because you can choose a dramatic episode or a funny one or a cute one...like the one with Ed playing chess with Chessmaster Hex, or the mushroom one...^_^
I haven't worn out my love hina yet, but i like it because you can get back into the story...and you just wonder why don't they just get it over with...besides with the amusing cast there's always something amiss going on. ^_^
I used to be able to watch Escaflowne a lot but after the 8th or 9th time going through I decided to put it on hold for awhile.

11-06-2002, 10:58 PM
Alien 9 - i know i've seen this at least 6 times
