Ok, so I'm a complete NOOB when it comes to sewing. Like I can't get my measurements right so they all turn out not fitting me or being too small DX can someone tell me HOW i should measure myself? Also I can't make sleeves for some reason.
Is there some sort of shape the sleeves need to be in order to make it..right??
This brings me to my next question, can someone help me find a pattern for the military uniforms worn by aph characters? http://neoshinka.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/aph_feliciano-vargas_axis_power_hetaria_italy.jpg or just help me some other way?

Thanks and i hope i get some responds! XD

Here is a link for how to measure yourself.

Be sure to buy patterns according to your largest measurement - not the "size" on the package. I'm a 10 in ready to wear but up to a 14 or 16 when I buy a pattern. If it's a top - go by the bust measurement; skirt or pants - use your hip measurement. It's easier to adjust and make something smaller.

As for sleeves - are you making your own or using a pattern?

For basic sewing - maybe grab a book from the library or a bookstore. There is a book called "Reader's Digest Guide to Sewing" that has great basic information. Singer also makes some basic books. They can be a little pricey ($25) but I bought one that I still use a lot of years later even as an experienced sewer.
