oh goodness, those could be a challenge. They look like pilots goggles from back in the day. I would say try ebay and search for pilot goggles. *shrugs* I don't know any store that would carry such things, perhaps a vintage one?

It would be hard to find goggles just in that same shape of Cids already made. >.< But If you want accuracy then make them (quite a challenge), or get an old pair of goggles of E-bay or somewhere and alter it like Cid's. It shouldn't be that hard to alter if you just have the shape of the eyes on the goggles.

Ditto to the e-bay thing. Have you tried a military surplus store? They might have some pilot goggles. Also, you could try www.sportys.com - it's a store for pilots.

Try checking out hardware stores like Orchard Supply or Home Depo. They might have safety goggles that are similar. I also saw some goggles at Hot Topic the other day, though they were black.

A pair of WWI pilot goggles would definetly be the way to go. Ebay should have them.

Restoration Hardware sells nifty, bulky welding goggles (though not on their website, for some reason). They're metal and black leather, so they aren't exactly accurate, but I think they may capture the spirit of the character.

Howdy. I haven't posted in quite a while, but I figured I should start once more.

So, check it. I do believe you can find some pretty decent looking goggles at your local Motorcycle dealer.

I wouldn't of known this myself, except I recently bought a scooter, and while I was looking around the store, I spotted riding goggles in a case, and they really do look alot like Cid's. So, it could work.

The goggles I found were at a Yamaha Dealership. So, yeah. It's worth looking to.

Okay, I cosplayed as Cid earlier this year and I'll be honest, I took the easy(and poor) way out. I went to a thrift store, found a cheapy pair of swimming goggles(speedo I think :)) and I just painted them brown. It really didn't look that bad though and I'm sure it's probably much more affordable them buying off E-bay or from a motorcycle dealer(I money is a concern).

I made a Cid cosplay for my husband. When we couldn't find pilot goggles from the military surplus store, we simply bought small welder's goggles-- they look very close and they were only $5. I'll see if I can find a pic of them, but I'm not sure I have any.

Hmmm...Where did you buy googles?? Do you know the maker, style, anything might help identify the welder's google?? @_@

BTW...does Cid have dog-tag in FF7(game) or only in Kingdom Hearts and Advent Children?? What is dog-tag like...one that soldier(army) would wear?? What do usually written on them?

Resurrecting the thread... :D

Same question as the above poster - I can't find out what's written on the tag.

Best I can manage is: http://www.ffextreme.com/media.php?im=ff7ac/images/32

I found a much larger one, but you still can't make anything out:

i've been off the forums for a while and some people actually posting in my Cid topic? im surprised ;) anyway down to business:

you will never find out whats actually written on them. however, i would assume they contain his name, troop type (pilot) and Id no. (no idea) from back in his Shinra days.

and no he doesnt have them in FF7. none of the artwork nor character models show any.

My husband is going as AC style Cid Highwind to Ani-Magic. For the goggles, the best I was able to find were on eBay, and they are "Stadium goggles", but they aren't too bad...if you can outbid others for them and find a set in good shape!
As for the dogtags, yeah, who knows what they say but again, on eBay, you can bid on personalized military dog tags, so my Cid has them with his name and some other stuff I just came up with on the fly, and it only set me back about $8.00. Not bad.

I've been looking through many stores, and as you could guess, exact replica's can only be found by making them yourself. I am going to follow this course soon, and I'll try to make a how-to, maybe with written measurements. Planning to make a headcast too for best measurements. I hope this will be very soon

For my AC outfit, I got custom dogtags made that read
World Regenesis
Organisation
Cid Highwind
Airship Division
CHW-1873(or some serial number)

I felt it was a good one seeing where he is working as of Advent Children and Dirge

Oooh, very crafty. I like it.

You can also get military style dog tags at one of those K9 Dog Tag engraver booths. Most of them have a Military dog tag style that you can choose and engrave whatever you want on it.
