View Full Version : Anyone 'create' a character based on a real character?

Like lets say you have a preference toward a certain character, but you want to modify it.. For instance way back when I used to RPG and I used this alias, can you guess who I was? I was a chick version of Tuxedo Mask :-P I guess the problem with such types of cosplay would be that nobody would 'get it' I suppose?

I used the Extreme-G 2 character Phlux Colbalt to create an original design. Though mostly its because there is only one image of him, and even in the video game it's hard to see him.

I don't see any problem in it. I've seen steampunk versions of characters. I'm also thinking about slightly modifying a character's costume to be a bit more female friendly ^_^; as I really want to cosplay as him.

Seeing as I've personally been a feminized Piccolo (complete with turban and purple mini-skirt), I see no issue with altered versions of established characters. Steampunk'd, retro'd, and cyberpunk'd versions also run as big favorites.

My cosplay partner and I are doing lolita versions of Alice and the Cheshire Cat. Hers is mostly disney and novels inspired, mine is very much off the recent movie.
(I have a topic on it asking for advice in the EGL section of the forum)
