View Full Version : Kisuke & Yoruichi (Help?!)

Ok, I know there are a ton of things out there for these two but I can never seem to find them. So I have a fine list here of what my main hits are. This is directly off of my gaia account topic. Ok, here we go.

Ok. Here's the thing. Me and my friend want to (and will) cosplay Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara. I have decent patterns for them but the thing is fabric. I was thinking cotton, but I remembered it doesn't live long in my house. (Its my dogs favorite fabric to chew up.) So can anyone suggest fabric to me?

Another thing. We have the hair to pull it off but we have a feeling we should just get wigs. So it would be nice if someone could tell us if we should go with wigs or not. And if we go with wigs, what is a cheep website to get them at.

This is the awkward part of the topic. The person doing Yoruichi doesn't fill the chest area so we were wondering how to make them bigger and look a little natural.

Now for the props. Our main problem is Kisuke's fan and cane. I have looked a long time and can't seem to find just a plain white fan anywhere. As for the cane, I just need to find a place to get it cheep. It would be very helpful if someone could enlighten me on places to get these rare items. Oh wait almost forgot his shoes. Once again, as cheep as possible.

Oh it would also be very helpful if someone can tell me how to make boot covers and Urahara's hat. Any pattern will work.

If anything is needed of me I can post it up. And thanks to the people that pop in to help.

Okay if any of this Doesn't make sense let me know, I'll correct it. I'm sick so my way of typing is a bit weird so please forgive me.

I would think Twill. if you can't use cotton. If you really want to use cotton I would Suggest you get a Contain you can Seal and keep it off the ground where your doggies can't get to it. If I can get a hold of my old Seamstress I can ask her what She made my Battle outfit out of (No photos yet I'm still getting it together)

Depending on which Outfit your doing of Yoruichi If your doing her "Halter top/battle oufit" as I call it There is a thing you can get that you can attach to the chest that has No straps but it lifts your Cup size a Size or two depending on what you get. I'll go to wal-mart in a bit just to find out the name of the product for ya'll since were about to head out to Eat.

Kisuke's Cane and fan- You can USUALLY find a cane at the thrift. or you can find them online for pretty cheap where you go. The fan if you find an almost white one with Designs on them you can Paint over it. Again If I find the link for some (I'm looking for a couple for my Own Updated Urahara outfit) I will post them.

Kisuke's shoes are called "Geta". There are many different styles I would Post where I got mine BUT they shut down the Site so I have to look else where as well.

I can't really Help you with the Hat. I got mine for 15 bucks at an anime shop.

If they need anymore help contact me on Gaia at 'Lord of the Waffles" If they contact me I can futher my search for them! Have a good day... *goes out for BBQ*

EDIT; How to make your own fan (http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=95386)

Its Yoruichi orange outfit that you always see her in. Is twill thick in anyway? The name of the product will help a lot. See, its my friends first real cosplay and she wants to pull it off very well. So i am going to give it to her. If I find a link I will post it or gaia it to you, if you would like.
Thanks for the help you have given. Now lets go to the funnest place on the earth, Joann's. What!?!?! T_T my mom said no.
Anyway. Thanks once again, and I hope the food was good ^_^

I had to make an Urahara hat for my brother when I was Yoruichi, and you can either find a plain white bucket hat and paint on the green stripes (I actually found a green one and painted on the white ones).

You can do this by marking where you want your stripes to be with masking tape, marking the spaces with something non-permanent like that mark B-gone marker from the fabric store, removing the tape and putting to the outside of where you marked (for nice crisp lines), and then painting them on with fabric paint :3. (Sorry if I sound confusing >_<.)

If you can't find a pre-made bucket hat that works well, youcould always make one from scratch from a tutorial like this: http://sewmuchado.blogspot.com/2010/07/tutorial-4-in-1-reversible-toddler.html

Just alter the directions so that it fits your head and make any character adjustments, such as how wide and floppy the brim of the hat is supposed to be!

(Of course, an easy alternative would be just to buy one XD).

For bootcovers, it depends if you will use stretch or non-stretch fabric, but the pattern is pretty much the same (except for non-stretch fabric you may need a zipper in the back).
