View Full Version : Shinkenger Cosplay

Hey all! =D

I've assembled a Shinken Red cosplay that I wore to Anime Expo 2010. It served its' purpose well, but now I want to improve it.

Example: http://www.showwallpaper.com/wallpaper/0902/026124.jpg <suit i wish I had

The helmet I made using featherweight's cardboard helmet tutorial. I'm just gonna slap some bondo on it now to smooth it out. Still looking to improve the visor, and find a way to put it on rather than shoving it over my head. Any ideas?

The main thing that needs improvment is the suit itself. I ordered one of those $50 suits off of eBay. The belt on it is just a strip of cloth, so i need to make a hard belt.

Secondly, the red patches on the sides of the pants are not present. I'm not the best sewer in the world, but any help I'll take. And the suit itself is rather light and flimsy. I've never had the pleasure of wearing a really awesome PR cosplay, but by looking at the suit it seems a lot thicker material than mine is. Shinier too.

As for the boots, the ones that came with my suit are little more than shiny socks... and while you feel light as a feather, your feet feel like crap after prancing around the LACC area all day. Anyone know of some boots that might work here?

And the coupe de grace: a sword. It would be great to actually have a sword. I know featherweight has a tutorial somewhere for swords, but I can't find it. :( Help Me.

Also, any miscellaneous advice/suggestions/tutorials/anything, please PLEASE post them. Thanks :D
