Hi. I haven't really done much on this site before, and I just discovered that it has forums. I'm really getting to like it here now!

I was wondering, could anyone please critique my most recent costume? I dressed as Tsubasa from Ranma . Tsubasa is a crossdresser, so my task wasn't to look perfectly like a girl. I only had to look like a boy who dresses as a girl.

Here's the costume. (http://forums.cosplay.com/costume.php?action=detail&cosid=8489) Opinions? Feel free to post a comment on the costume page instead of this thread, if you like. I've never received any comments, so it would be cool to.

Remark on any of my other costumes, (http://forums.cosplay.com/costume.php?action=list&userid=4274) if you wish, too.

Thanks!

Hi Lee,

I have always liked your cosplay and crossplay - Lychee and Seifer were my favorites - but now I have to add Tsubasa.

You definitely have good poses, and I like your prop work also. So far you are the only person I've seen that made the umbrella look appropriate for Seita.

Never got to see your Kagato, would like to see that in person.

Yay! Thank you so much for remarking on my costumes. ^_^ I'm glad you like Tsubasa. Maybe I will wear it to MTAC. Are you going there this year?

Woah hey wait - you're that LostBoy! Please allow me to digress a moment and say how much I love your AMVs. Rhythm Generation is my fave and made me a Two-Mix fan. Extra points for having Blue Seed in there ;)

Back to the costumes. To be honest - when I first looked at your avatar I thought you were a girl  so you did your job a little too well if you were only going for the guy-as-girl look. ;)

I love your Ryoga costume to pieces! Course I'm slightly biased being a huge fan of the dear lost one. I've done the Ryoga OAV look before as well (I have no pics yet). I've always found your Ryoga costumes impressive - you pose very well in them and the umbrella is great. Didn't you used to have pics of them at cosplaylab.com?

All of your costumes are very good. They look well put together, especially the Kagato and Seifer costumes. I'm not familiar with the characters so I can't nit-pick over details but from an overall point of view they look good.

The make-up for Lycee is not the greatest - you look sort of clownish (although it may be partly the pic as well). But obviously your crossplay abilites have greatly improved between then and now.

I applaud you on making actual chain mail for Serge. I know what it's like to have a labour intensive bit of costume you're cursing by the end (for my Zel wig I had to lay down each thread individually before I could sew them to the wig cap - and everytime I thought I was done I'd always find a new bald spot that could be filled in).

The Seita costume is great. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing a Grave Of The Fireflies costume before. The umbrella is the best part. I don't think I would have actually thought of burning it (I'd probably be afraid of melting it too much) but you obviously kept things under control to get the result you wanted.

Thanks! ^_^ Do you go to AWA? I premiered some new stuff there this year. Two of my three new videos are available for download on animemusicvideos.org now (AWA VAT Breakdown Techno Rave and DDR 4th-Mix Dam Dariram).

Thank you so much! That's a huge compliment. The thing is, Tsubasa looks like a girl. He's cute as all get-out. So I had to try and look as much like a cute girl as possible! But if anyone said I still looked too guy-like, I could say, well, Tsubasa is a guy, so it's ok! But in truth, i strove to be as pretty as possible. ^_^;

Didn't you used to have pics of them at cosplaylab.com?

Yes, and I still do! A lot of these pics are transplanted from there to here. I still need to post my Ryoga-in-long-sleeved-tunic photo.

Thank you so much for all your kind remarks. ^_^ I'm really happy. I'm starting to get comments on the photos too. Most of them are from one friend of mine, but still... it's fun to get that kind of attention.

If you'd like to see more photos, my website is full of convention journal reports. http://lostboyvideo.com

Thanks again!

Hee, I would love to see Tsubasa at MTAC - and I definitely will be there (else other staff would hunt me down).

Well then, I'll do it! ^_^ I think I'll enter the costume contest too. I love MTAC's contest. No waiting in a 5-hour lineup like at the big cons.

I really like the costumes! My anime is packed right now for a move, so I can't nit pick, not that it looks like I'd find any. I can appreciate someone who love details like I do. My only nits is that the Ryoga costume is listed as being short sleeved, and it's really sleeveless, and you look washed out in that photo, but that may have been that pesky flash. ;)

Also, you look scarily like a woman I know in your Tsubasa make up and hair! A little rounder in the face, but since I haven't seen her since she had her baby and gained some weight (she was pretty skinny for a 6' 2" woman, especially one with...um...large tracks of land), it's probably bang on now. She used to be an exotic dancer...

Kawaii! 3 words: You rule, dude. That is definitely one of the best crossplays I've ever seen and your attention to detail is awesome. I love all your costumes, but this is definitely a fav now. You pulled off the cute girly look better than most girls do! Bravisimo!

OMG, thank you so much! :D I really tried hard to make it look great, and this kind of comment makes me feel really good about the work I put into it.

aaah! I'm like spazzing out here! The Tsubasa ep is one of my all-time favorite Ranma eps, and I've never seen a Tsubasa cosplayer before! You look just like him...er...her..er..him XP You did an excellent job, right down to the bangs! Not to mention you make quite the cute shemale ^_~ Bravo!
