Hi! I'm buying a miku hatsune cosplay off of ebay, but the belt to it is a little short. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make her belt? Like a clip on one that I could just clip to a belt loop. Here is what Miku looks like with her belt loop thing. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2567/4147650718_8d3b4d3516_o.jpg&imgrefurl=http://hisandheraccount.blogspot.com/2009/12/virtual-miku-hatsune-on-live-stage.html&h=580&w=378&sz=46&tbnid=vjzWBHoMge-S2M:&tbnh=278&tbnw=181&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmiku%2Bhatsune&zoom=1&q=miku+hatsune&hl=en&usg=__AmFhyIKOWvTQ-eFqFPZc8ZNEuKQ=&sa=X&ei=PeioTJuHA8Oblgec7tGDDg&sqi=2&ved=0CBkQ9QEwAA As you can see ot hangs off the side of her skirt and, I just want to know where I can get her clip on belt or how to make one. Thanks!

Wait, can you post a pic of the costume?

my suggestion: DUCK TAPE! get a basic belt and cover it with duck tape (thats what i did with my rin cosplay) if i had a reference pic for you i would show you, but i will try to have one up on my page by the end of the week.

(get 2 rolls, tape the belt/whatever you are going to use-i had 2 clips, with a 1 1/2 inch black thick string thing sewn onto that (so its sturdy) - use the base color (blue in your case) and use that as a base for the belt, then cut out triangles (one after the other to save tape) of the other color (black) and in a matter of minutes you have yourself a duck tape belt! )

one warning about this method: duck tape is a PAIN to cut!! be careful!! mainly you will just get the basic shape though.

like i said i will have pics up later..but if you need any help let me know! (wish i had pics of the clasp things for you now tho.. :/

The clip loops you can find in Jo-Anns. I just bought some this weekend I found them over in the purse-making things, which is near the beading items (in my jo-anns) Look really closely. Swivel lobster Claw clip (http://www.homebeadsonline.com/ekmps/shops/homebeads/images/large_lobster.jpg)

How much too short is the suspender-belt? Because (This is just an idea I have little sewing experience to back this up) What if you found the matching material and lengthened it in the back?

But yes a picture of the costume you'll be buying would be nice.

I've heard about people just cutting out a million triangles of teal and dark teal and just sewing them together. Or maybe you could take a teal material and use fabric paints or markers to colour in the triangles?

A friend of mine used Heat n' Bond to iron on each of the triangles. Its pretty easy to use c:
