Hi, I'm trying to create Kagamine Len's Setsugetsuka outfit... and I'm seriously lost since I don't have a clue about traditional Japanese clothes;; Can anyone please tell me what articles of clothing I would need to create to pull off the costume?

First off, let me say I have never seen these designs or heard this song before, but they look amazing! Good luck with them!

I am not an expert by far in Japanese clothing, but in my opinion it looks like it is inspired more by Japanese clothing than made out of actual traditional Japanese pieces.

layer 1: sleeveless, white kimono-like top with red/gold trim

layer 2: long black/grey ruffled skirt

layer 3: long red skirt pleated similarly to hakama (Japanese trousers). I do not think they are actual hakama (which I'm guessing Kaito and Gakupo are wearing) because of the ruffles underneath and because there is no visible slit in-between the legs. This would also not be the first time that Len dresses as a girl [Imitation Black].

layer 4: odd black off-the-shoulder robe with white sleeves attached to it. My guess is that you will have to draft/drape or alter your own pattern for it in order to get it to look like the picture.

layer 5: black obi-inspired sash with a red cord

this is just my opinion on it, but I hope this helps

Ahh... I was wondering whether the bottom was a skirt or not. I think I can picture what I have to create now. Thank you for your help! :D
