I really want to make the guitar from Meltdown. ( Remix Version by Kagamine Rin ). There are a lot of fine details. And I am not used to making large accessories. First: What materials would you recommend?

that is a bass guitar??

note to self: don't phrase questions as statements.

Um, plywood? that would probably be easiest due to the large flat surfaces.

Yeah. :/ It is commonly called a guitar, but yes, it is a bass.

Thank you~! :]

The rings remind me a lot of embroidery hoops. If you have any experience with wood working, or know someone that does, you could probably attack different sizes easily to a dowel or piece of wood serving as the arm.

Thank you. :] And my dad is very good with welding and with wood, so I guess it would be easy to ask him to do that. Again, Thank you~

This little piece of awesome comes to mind as a base: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=172892

Then wood for all the details I guess?

Carefull though a lot of conventions won't allow anything made heavily of wood .

I would second the cardboard guitar idea. Most of it looks like it can be made out of carefully cut cardboard pieces, then thick wire for some other parts.

True. I was thinking about it. Now I just need to obtain much of cardboard. But thick wire for what specific parts?

Hi, I was randomly blog-walking and came across this: http://round-and-powdered.blogspot.com/2010/03/meltdown-guitar.html The blogger didn't give much instructions but I'm sure you can roughly make out what needs to be done from the pictures. The outcome is great too. :D
